Buy it off amazon. For the money and with a little tweaking its great. Cost me under 1700 landed.

Had a milestone and hated it

Pricesmart online has it for 2000.

how long would the HTC ONE X battery last? say 3 years?

Is there anyway to replace it after that time? this is one reason I never bought an iphone. Sad to see HTC go the same way. The Galaxy S3 looks more attractive.

Replaced Touchwiz with Nova Launcher, no transparencies on app drawer transitions, adjusted speed of transitions. Makes it a bit easier on the eye, but can still get choppy.

Next route is to root if possible, install Titanium and remove some of the bloatware. This made a huge difference on my S2.

Edit, just flashed custom recovery, wiped dalvik cache and cache partition. Rooted using the following instructions: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/24285-root-for-the-gt-p3110/

Haven't tested extensively yet but no issues thus far. Seems a bit smoother with animations and transitions already (probably because of the cache clean?)
Installing Titanium in a bit, and will remove some bloat over the next few days, and report back with any improvements/issues.

step by step instructions to root the tab 2 7.0

i stull have to buy a micro sd card so when i do ill root it. updated all the apps and cleared the cache, running much smoother now. i believe its an issue with a certain app comparability with ICS.

maybe ill try clearing the cache again. Removed the stock launcher and other samsung apps, switched to go launcher. Much smoother.
Tried upping the base clock to 600 mHz and it made a slight difference in menus and app loading.

Flashed an overclock kernel on the Tab P3113, and it does make the transitions a bit smoother (with lagfree governor using nofrills cpu tuner), and overclocked to 1.2 GHz max.

Think it's let MS know that they won't need to depend on them should they decide to provide a crappy app.

seeing that BlackBerry decided against opening up bbm to other platforms, i hope with the purchase of Meebo, Google finally brings a bbm killer to the table...

The only bbm killer is for die hard bbm users to adopt the alternatives.

which won't happen too easily since BBM is more "secure"

some are of the belief and rightly so to an extent that RIM is more secure than other platforms.

For starters, RIM has far superior encryption to anyone else out there. It is why businesses are reluctant to move to iOS and Android for basic things like email. iOS can be jailbroken to do anything Apple did not intend and Android is an open book.

And I don't see Apple or Google matching security of Blackberry server for a long time, even if RIM falls apart today.

We talking about bbm bro, and it's not a Google versus iOS versus RIM deal, many of the alternatives are provided by third party companies.

So the explanation I was looking for is to do with a "security advantage" bbm has over the alternatives. I've never heard anyone say they don't want to use whatsapp etc because it's less secure.

If you guys have heard someone say that, can you tell me what these people are sending over bbm???

Got a Seidio Surface and Skinomi Tech Skin for my HOX. The Seidio is an awesome case, I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking for cases. Have yet to put on the screen protector but..the box it came in is awesome :¦ looks pretty good. Wet applied protector.
