the large disproportionate unvaxxed deaths says otherwise - is it that the vax protects ppl from NCDs as well?

There are no apparent local signs of waning immunity.

Since the end of August, 20× as many unvaccinated deaths when compared to vaccinated deaths.

17 over 7 days. thats 2.4 per day.

total active cases detected is 3k.... that is less than 0.1% death per case... and those deaths/cases may be incidental.
bandits get shot, people drown, and test positive for covee... those still factor into those numbers the minsistry posts there.

You sound worried. You should get vaccinated.

Cases in the last 7 days: 643
Deaths in the last 7 days: 17

That's 2.6% (not 0.1%) mortality. That's the same 98% survival rate.

That is very likely because what they are experiencing is a recent reinfection. Recent COVID infections are likely less deadly because it is no longer a novel virus, just like influenza - nearly everyone has been exposed by either vaccination or previous infection.

COVID and influenza infection statistics also share other similarities: reduced infection severity, hospitalization and death among those that are vaccinated when compared to those that are not.

when i checked public case/deaths info on google a couple weeks ago it seems like MOH stopped sharing data publicly- if u google trinidad covid cases u used to get the daily cases/deaths . it stop since they stop the daily reports.

Update: OK it look like they started back but only once a week.

they are no longer updating this
