At a special meeting on Tuesday evening she told her party followers that she had pledged to honour the mandate of the COP when she took up the mantle of leadership.
That is, to find enduring unity and strength in the nation's diversity. She said the fight in the latest election was to strengthen the country's parliamentary democracy.
Ms. Seepersad-Bachan says that along the way she was humbled by the many people who listened and shared their views and concerns with her. She is grateful that regardless of their final political choice they treated her with respect.
Ms. Seepersad-Bachan says that in the interim the national COP Council will appoint one of their Deputy Leaders to act as Political leader. She urges her followers to hold on to the believe that change will come and they will be beneficiaries of good governance.

Well its going to be large taxes you will have to pay, so i guess they will take monthly installments to soften the blow.
Don't expect any improvements or services from paying you house taxes.

Paying house taxes does not bother me one bit.
I will simply raise my rents to cover it.
Hard luck to my PNM tenants.

well tough....we are not first past the post, we are proportional representation and whoever wins the number of seats wins. I personally feel its better.....look at the two backward countries(Guyana and Suriname) that decided to do first past the post and see how well they have turned out

That is not true.
T&T is first past the post. That is how our General Elections are run.
I think Panday had some proportional representation when they had the Local Government elections around 1995-2002.
If we had proportional representation, the UNC would have more seats.

We just dont understand that doing the same things over and over and expecting different results just dont work.
Elections are more or less over and we need to move on without sowing bitterness and other nonsense.
The work we all have to do requires us to get going in the same direction since like covid19, other forms of destructive pressures not going to distinguish between unc or pnm.

The Prime Minister is accusing the UNC of attempting to delegitimise the government’s election victory through its call for recounts.
On CNC3’s Morning Brew, Dr Rowley said the call for recounts in constituencies where the UNC lost by thousands of votes is part of a deliberate strategy by the UNC to prevent the smooth transition of government after the election.
He said the UNC, by challenging the results in certain constituencies, was suggesting to their followers that their party had been cheated out of victory in the election.
“This is a dangerous situation. There is an ethnic flavour to this and the purpose is to incite a section of the population. There is a huge undercurrent of racism that has come out of this election. You can go on social media and see what’s happening there.
“I saw a university lecturer accusing the PNM of organising boundaries so it could win, which brings into question the constitutional role and function of the EBC. I don't think the recounts are candidate-based. They are looking for any means to get us into court and then go the way of Guyana.”
Rowley said while the Cabinet from the previous swearing-in is in place and is running the country, there are certain mandates which the government has to fulfil and, for this, a new Cabinet has to be sworn in.
Is Rowlee appointing himself the PNM prime Minster without the release of the official EBC results and appointed by the President?Blaze d Chalice wrote:PM: UNC trying to destabilise countryThe Prime Minister is accusing the UNC of attempting to delegitimise the government’s election victory through its call for recounts.

If the COP had left after the SIA saga, the culmination of which was the reshmi ramnarine thing, they would have been in office now. My mom always thought Prakash was a future PM.........but he blew those chances to smithreens
