First time trying out Aeropost.

First package reached Trinidad relatively quickly. Two days from arrival in Miami to Trinidad.

However it has been in Trinidad since and not ready for collection yet as of today (Tuesday night)

How long does it typically take for things to clear once arrival in Trinidad with Aeropost?

Seems right. As mentioned above, their customs day is mostly Thursday so you get previous week stuff from Friday onwards .

This is a customs limitation and not really something Aeropost can speed up.

Last 4 times we bring in "computer peripherals" we get charged every tax. (Feb 2021 - present)

The only thing I see had 0% was a few m.2 SSDs

This is with the fellas located in the tropics.

I've been an Aeropost customer for a good while...wondering if to give RPM a lil chance?
Do they do free returns?

What are the duties for semi precious stones? I can’t seem to find that info anywhere.

Would be categorized as jewelry.
30% duties + vat + opt

Thanks, thought so. I’m seeing both RPM and CSF calculator have a category for Stone with 0% duty, what item would that be referring to?

Any update on this?

Trying to land a CPU 10900k (or 11900k) and board along with a 1TB 980PRO m.2 and possibly a 3080.

Trying to figure out if there are any taxes (custom duties, OPT & VAT) to be applied to this.

Thanks in advance.

Supposed to be none.
Brought in some hard drives and there was no tax applied

Did anyone import any digital cameras recently? It's supposed to be tax free as well now

No magazines but I regularly have mail delivered. You will likely be charged VAT on the cover price of the magazine.

Aeropost recommends you use the PO Box for magazines.

I received a basic ordinary letter at Aeropost and was charged every fee including online sales tax. I was like how do value a letter. They said if I don’t want to pay fees and want to get regular mail i should send it to the PO. BOX instead. Someone sent me another letter...it was important time sensitive letter an it it took months to get here. That’s when They said oh yeah we have a container that they dump these letters and magazines into and they only send it when it’s full every couple weeks or in my case months.

I'm not sure what you paid but FedEx charges about TT$350 to ship between Trinidad and the USA.

Really? So digital SLRs are now exempt from duties and taxes?

sometimes it depends on the weight of the book too.

I got a book for about 40USD from Aeropost. It cost about 280TT to clear.

Brought in parts for a full build over the past 2 months - inclusive of new case and 2 x 27" monitors.

The only thing that got charged any gov't fees was the PSU...not too sure why but didnt bother questioning it. Everything else was 0 VAT/duties/OPT

Also - good luck with that 3080 at MSRP.
