 sour grapes

It would be nice to see Chelsea humble Barca again but it isn't possible (yet) since they are in the same pot for the draw

Well the objective really wasnt to outplay Barca, they are a better footballing team without doubt...just shows that differing styles of play can be just as effective. We rode our luck but I believe luck is earned...spirit and determination can make up for lack of great technical ability, which Chelsea didnt have

Glad to know you're gracious in defeat though, unlike most Barca supporters I've encountered...agreed on Ineista, incredible player.

Both Chelsea and Real Madrid beat Barca on strategy and developing a strong game plan. These teams have "worked out " Barca and it is now up to Villanova to come up with something to counteract the type of football these teams play. And it must start with a re-worked back line.

But make no mistake that chelsea deserved to beat Barca as did Real Wednesday.

FC Barcelona and Schalke 04 have reached an agreement for the loan of Ibrahim Afellay to the German club until June 30, 2013. Ibrahim Afellay, 26 years of age, came to FC Barcelona on December 24, 2010 from PSV Eindhoven during the winter transfer window. He played 27 games, 16 in La Liga, 6 in the Copa del Rey and 5 in the Champions League.

hmm although he didn't get much play time recently I felt that Afellay was a good fit for Barca. Maybe in a year or two we'll see him again.

^dunno why they run d man so. really liked him for the team but he really didnt take his chances. from what i saw of him before he came he was more assertive at psv. a little uncertain in barca. guess it was the new team new style and he also got injured.

^yup, tello seems a bit one dimensional and predictable with the step over move
afellay seemed more versatile, strong and able to run and defenders
but maybe tello jus has better luck

Barca is having the better possession, nice spell at the end; however the team is not on top of his game at the moment. Both Messi and Fabregas had good opportunities in front of goal. Looking forward to a better 2nd half!

Although Valencia defense is very sound, our performance was disappointing...at least we were able to hold on and take full points! The guys looked out of tune and tired.

Didn't see the game, but that's not a good sign this early in the season. Maybe it's just the SuperCopa exertions?

So it may seem, I am hoping it just that because we need to maintain our current winning streak!

On another note, Alex Song performance was outstanding. He is a true talent in the midfield holding position...a silent man of the match for me!

He was excellent in the second leg against RM, almost setting up a winner right at the death

Tommy Smith was getting real jones on Shaka Hislop, so they were talking a lot about the Caribbean especially T&T, Independence etc. That is the most I've heard them mention Trinidad in a league game.

WRT the game, Fabregas looking like a lost soul in the side. Song fit in very good.
