^ get an electrician to check the wiring in your house. Fluctuations when you turn on a device is probably due to bad wiring or everything on one circuit. Her the electrician to put things on different circuits so they don't affect each other. He can put your entire home theatre on its own circuit.

Better than trying to find a band-aid.

The Panamax is really to deal with issues from the electricity company and with lightning etc.

The 5400 is an excellent unit but it can't work miracles.

Agree with Duane. Get new rhino wire for your pump, make sure all contacts clean and it is on its own breaker. Same for AC, make sure contacts clean, breakers seated securely in the panel.

A transformer will boost voltage, but the panamax may not help much.

I also have the triplite, the one with the blue display, it works ok. I've measured the voltage out with a multimeter, and it does offer a small boost.

I think if the transformer was causing that, then you'd get a dip when the neighbour turns on his pump or dryer.

I also have a ~5 yr old house and I redid the wiring so that the washer/dryer, kitchen, pump, home entertainment system were all on their own separate circuits and I have no problems running them at the same time.

Our street can do with a better transformer, so if the neighbour is doing work and a welding plant is being used then I see a dip of about 5v when arcing (usually from about 118v down to 113v) but the Panamax handles that very well.

yeah everything has its own circuit and appropriate amperage breaker etc
when we first came here we never had a prob, but since then, the demand for electricity went up alot with atleast 2 business opening up etc
i know once t&tec do whats needed the probs will stop
but in the interim i wanna be protected

so t&tec came back today and did some further tests
we get 109-110v with pretty much no load

nice, but i could imagine their markup.

I'll stick to Audiogon anyday 8-)

Actually no, their Morel car audio prices are on par with, some times lower retail online prices.

So we can hope the same goes for the home audio

by me, the power fluctuates badly, especially when the a/c or pump kicks in, worse if they washing or using the drier

i have a pair of those tripp lite voltage regulators and they constantly on "boost" mode

based on my research, the only only the panamax 5400 and up does voltage regulation which costs aboug 700USD

my idea, buy a pair of these
http://www.amazon.com/Monster-MP-HTS-16 ... ster+power

so each of the tripplite goes into a seperate wall outlet, and then each of the HTS1600 goes into a respective tripplite
then the products goes into the respective HTS1600's
products are --- the 47" tv, 1022 receiver and a crown xls 1500 for sub, bluray player, equalizer

the tv and receiver goes into one HTS1600 and all others go into the other HTS1600

the goal is to have more than adequate power management since the power here sucks!!

or any other ideas are welcomed

After doing some research I learnt that other famous brands like monster and APC cannot take much voltage hits. The varistors burn after 3 voltage spikes whereas in Panamax they can take the load continuously as the material used is different. Tests conducted revealed that Panamax survived 15+ surges in comparison to other leading brands in a single test. Although I saw the monster on sale several times on amazon, I was tempted to purchase but I'm holding off until I could get the Panamax.

we get under voltage so i need something to "boost" the voltage to a clean 120v

the tripp lite does this but i wanted to add further protection using the pair of monster power

the panamax 5400 unit and the 7500 does the voltage regulation and they start at 700-1000usd
and since im using the amp for the sub, i will need 2 of them

^ I have a 5400PM and then I fixed the wiring in the house and I'm using a 5300PM with no issues

the 5300 does not have a toroidal coil, which is why it's cheaper and doesn't do voltage regulation like the 5400

Panamax is boss BTW

are you sure your voltage issues are not because your wiring is faulty?!

the only reason your current would dip when your water pump comes on is because you have faulty wiring.

it would be T&TEC's issue if you were not getting between 110 and 125v. It would be T&TEC's issue if you were getting a power dip when the neighbour's pump came on.

It's your own wiring if your pump is affecting your power in your house.
Items on different circuits should not affect each other.

I can put you on to a good qualified electrician

I have the old school e-312 floorstanders, one of the best set of speakers i heard in terms of impact, lacking a bit on mid performance..nothing eq can't fix and i think its because the boom and sizzle in them completely overpowers all other aspects. I'm happy with mine. Just pure BIG sound.

it sounds decent for the output of a sealed enclosure

i have it crossed at 80hz with the 20hz range all the way up on the eq
doesnt bottom out or get boomy and handles even the most demanding bass movie scenes

try the movie called Twister, in the first 5 mins, WOW....

try the movie U-571.
Best to get it on bluray since the DTS-HD track is epic. The sound of the depth charges in chapter 15 is the stuff of legend - it really gives any LFE subwoofer a workout.
