Here's the ava and vegas, tbh, while i love the ava and xbl^2 stuff, and the honor of owning one, fi and aa have stuff that's basically improved versions like the havoc and Q. Nick of Fi and aa actually runs a Havoc 18 in a 15 cu.ft tuned basement low in his personal HT. Wanna do a double 18 havoc someday in the far future lol.

The q is really nice but any audio fan will take a xbl^2 motor just for the sex of it.

Btw those lightening audio, the storms?

Haha, i wish. Those are the precursors, the strike s15.2.4, amazingly efficient in smaller enclosures , low power and damn near plays mid bass.

Thx smurf. Leaning toward the bic anyway. Didnt someone purchase the polk 505 recently? Think it was a few pages back.

Sent from my GT-S5690L using TriniTuner mobile app

Yup. That would be me lol

Actually only got to test it out yesterday in a 2.1 setup using the Pioneer SP-FS52s and the Polk audio PSW505 connected to a Yamaha RX-v673 receiver. The sub was connected using the LFE input. The sound produce from the sub was amazing musically but I noticed that for those lower frequency bass notes (probably around 30Hz) it kind of bottom out. Wasn't too bad though. It played everything else really nice. Didn't really get to play it on high volume. The sub volume was set to half and the receiver only reached -25db. Would like the sub to fully break in and then do some experimenting with the settings to get the best sound from it. Even at this level it shook the entire place lol. All in all, it's quite a decent sub for the price. Would plan on keeping until I upgrade to a velodyne but may not be anytime soon. Next up to complete the setup will be the Definitive Technology ProCentre 2000 or Mythos 7 and a couple of Def Techs ProMonitors 1000.

The psw505 very powerful and groundshaking for its size, very much punchy. It would do well with movies for impact..... but the plateamp i believe is the equivalent to the bash 300's that have a fixable flaw with a cap concerning the ss filter, which maybe a good thing considering the polk's throw at higher frequencies, if it plays anything lower than 30 at full, i'd imagine you'd have a smashed coil. Lots of port noise as well at the lower end of the spectrum. Listened to that sub in conjunction with a pair of rti 10's. I preferred the rti's standalone for music. Bass is wonderfully effortless from those and definitely not too bright.

^^yup...was gonna order it for myself but realized freight charge would have been a beyotch lol took two weeks to arrive but was worth the wait. Brought in the Yamaha receiver for myself though. Will try to upload pics later. In the meantime these are some pics of the cables being used in the setup:

ImageUploadedByTriniTuner1372377228.184211.jpg

12gauge stinger pro coupled with monster connectors and below a monster m series subwoofer cable. I know monster overrated but got it at a good price. The connectors are kinda cool, easy to install and makes the setup look more professional.

Yeah true but these days, time is a limiting factor for me. Built many enclosures in the past for subwoofers that I previously owned like the L7 and DD9512 for car audio but wanted to try something different.
