At what point do we consider the pandemic to have ended?
When everyone is vaccinated?
When everyone is dead?

US make 1 million per day

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/us-reaches-1-million-daily-covid-cases-spread-omicron-variant-rcna10866

that's like 5000 per day in T&T  do we even have a quarter of the capacity to do the amt of testing required in the coming weeks when omicron explode on we?

if omicron is mild for even as much as 95% it means 5% of 5000 or 250 ppl per day getting hospitalized!

and remember, it doubling every 2-3 days!

there is no parade (which is what most ppl here consider carnival to be) but there may be safe zone events. i thinking perhaps calypso monarch and maybe some pan, but no soca monarch as that is like a fete.

UK is having the TT equivalent of 5000 cases per day, but deaths are merely 1-2.

We are under testing, right now I know an entire family of 6 where only 4 of them isolating, the other 2 say they have to work. Only one of them tested officially.

So it's a safe assumption that Trini cases are 5x to even 10x of what's reported.

of course UK is much more vaxxed than us especially their elderly population. more boosted as well. so out situation wrt deaths will be worse than that even if delta is displaced by omicron.

This new format is definitely geared towards helping to increase vaccinations

If more people were vaccinated we would have had far less hospitalizations and deaths and far less stress on the healthcare system and workers.

Union tells unvaccinated public sector employees: Show up for work

https://www.guardian.co.tt/news/union-t ... 0b5d4610ac

If the employees are reporting for duty and the employer refuses to pay due to unilaterally changing the terms and conditions of employment then a strong case can be made for a constructive dismissal. I forsee taxpayers paying through their teeth in legal fees.

If I was MOH, I would have fully vaccinated in Green, Partially Vaccinated in Blue and Unvaccinated in Red.

Had to deal with an anti-vax taxi driver today who said the partially vaccinated dying out more than the unvaccinated hence he not getting no shot.

I was like "ok no problem" and done.

I would like to think that the government would have obtained high level legal advice before embarking on the action. However with this government, there's no guarantee of any proper plan or foresight. However, the ease with which they were able to close down petrotrin and caroni suggests there's maybe more in store for the antivaxxed public servants.

When you are part of a union you don't pay legal fees....Ignorance again. Industrial matters are held in the Industrial court which is not a court of lawyers but where trade unions and judges reign

Closing down petrotrin is all well and fine , the employer ceased operations but what they are doing here is completely illegal and goes against rule of law. Then again is the government , is the taxpayers gonna feel it not arse wari or Impsbert. High legal advice from whom, the AG who never win a case before .....yeah ok
