gonna lol if PEA brother ends up being proven right in 2022.

anybody that think I blowing smoke, read the preprint below from Health Canada.

https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101 ... 1.full.pdf

In contrast, receipt of 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccines was not protective against Omicron infection at any point in time, and VE was –38% (95%CI, –61%, –18%) 120-179 days and –42% (95%CI, –69%, –19%) 180-239 days after the second dose.

**those are negative numbers, folks.

In earlier work, we noted negative VE in the first week following the second dose against previous variants, in keeping with the hypothesis that a mistaken belief in immediate protection post-vaccination may lead to premature behaviour change. However, other hypotheses should also be considered, including the possibility that antigenic imprinting could impact the immune response to Omicron.23

That last part is exactly what PEA brother has been saying since March 2020.

time will tell :drinking:

reminder PEA brother has a Master's degree from Oxford University and a PhD from McMasters to boot. On paper, he's one of the most qualified experts in the field.

Incomplete.

You continue to cite negative vaccine protection against infection. This, in and of itself, is a distinct possibility for ANY vaccine, especially when MULTIPLE doses are given.

Your posts do not address the probability of vaccine effectiveness against disease, severe disease or death - which is the further immunological definition of negative outcome.

Still do not under the Union's logic other than pay us $$$ to be vaccinated

Researchers discover antibodies that neutralize omicron and other SARS-CoV-2 variants

An international team of scientists has identified antibodies that neutralize omicron and other SARS-CoV-2 variants. These antibodies target areas of the virus spike protein that remain essentially unchanged as the viruses mutate.

By identifying the targets of these "broadly neutralizing" antibodies on the spike protein, it might be possible to design vaccines and antibody treatments that will be effective against not only the omicron variant but other variants that may emerge in the future, said David Veesler, an investigator with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and associate professor of biochemistry at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. "This finding tells us that by focusing on antibodies that target these highly conserved sites on the spike protein, there is a way to overcome the virus' continual evolution," Veesler said.

Veesler led the research project with Davide Corti of Humabs Biomed SA, Vir Biotechnology, in Switzerland. The study's findings were published on Dec. 23 in the journal Nature. The lead authors of the study were Elisabetta Cameroni and Christian Saliba (Humabs), John E. Bowen (UW Biochemistry) and Laura Rosen (Vir).

The omicron variant has 37 mutations in the spike protein, which it uses to latch onto and invade cells. This is an unusually high number of mutations. It is thought that these changes explain in part why the variant has been able to spread so rapidly, to infect people who have been vaccinated and to reinfect those who have previously been infected.

[Veesler and his colleagues speculate that omicron's large number of mutations might have accumulated during a prolonged infection in someone with a weakened immune system or by the virus jumping from humans to an animal species and back again.]

The fact that the AG is pushing hard to complete legislation to use cash payments for breaches brings that real purpose for mandates is a form of social oppression.

It had nothing to do with saving lives. If that was so, Scoon-er boat party would have see mass arrests. But nothing.

But you got idiots like adnj and RedVEVO here, trying to push the idea that the vaccines are effective, when they are barely doing anything.

You are right to laugh.

World moving on. Not hiding like a puss and masking up. Came back from Florida before new years eve. Hardly ANYONE there masked up.

Only Trinidad dumb enough to think you can avoid covid. You are going to get it vaccinated or not and hospitalization will test more the quality of hospital rather than the vaccines

Florida? Very bad example of what to do to fight COVID-19. Masking regulations are being introduced or extended particularly because of unvaccinated people.

Mask mandates in 8 states and federal mask requirements extended. Here's the latest

The following states require most people to wear masks while in an indoor public setting.

California
Hawaii
Illinois
Nevada
New Mexico
New York
Oregon
Washington

The territory of Puerto Rico also requires masks for everyone indoors, while Connecticut requires masks indoors only for unvaccinated people.

The World Health Organization and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention continue to recommend everyone wear a face mask in crowded areas, regardless of vaccination status. While scientists are testing the effects of omicron on existing vaccines, it's possible for people with breakthrough infections to spread any COVID-19 variant. Although the CDC believes vaccinated people may be contagious for shorter periods of time, they can and do contribute to new cases, especially for people who are asymptomatic and may not be aware they're infected.

Both the WHO and CDC agree that people who aren't vaccinated should continue to wear face masks because they account for the majority of COVID-19 cases and deaths around the world. As omicron spans the globe, scientists agree that anyone eligible for a booster shot should get one.

Florida breaks single-day COVID case record

Health Dec 31, 2021 4:36 PM EST

TAMPA, Fla. — The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday reported more than 75,900 new cases of COVID-19 in Florida.

That tally raises the 7-day average daily to 42,600, which is twice as high as it was at the peak of this summer’s surge when the delta variant fueled a surge of infections in the state.

Friday’s report marks a single-day record for the number of new cases in Florida. It breaks the record set a day earlier when more than 58,000 cases were reported in the state. The omicron variant of the coronavirus has spiked in Florida and across the nation over the past few weeks.

Florida is in the ten states with the highest deaths per 100,000.

If deaths was the OP's point, Florida has 74% first dose, 63% fully vaccinated. Trinidad is 47%, 50% respectively.

It's time for you to start to push the vaccination strategy. It's the one that the others rely on - the one where fewer people die.

yes while the CMO has said ppl die 'with' covid also remember most deaths are in unvaccinated- so unless the vaccine is somehow protecting them from the other NCDs that they actually die from then it has to be a minority who die with covid and a majority who die 'from' covid.

and perhaps it could be that some vaxxed deaths are actually those deaths 'with' covid but from something else.

Probably the same people that following the science provided by the same companies that pay billions in fines under a law called the False Claims Act.

In other words they were caught fudging their tests results in order to sell their drugs.

No it's a quasi safe zone so it doesn't apply to the general public

PCR test is positive.

Extremely mild symptoms right now, to be perfectly honest I don't feel sick. Feels like Sahara dust allergies at its worse. But I'm in isolation for the next 10 days or so.
