Questions:

1. How long does Ebola survive on surfaces (outside of the body)?
2. Does latex gloves provide protection for handling of documents from suspected ebola-infected persons?

1. several hours at room temperature.
2. you get infected if the virus enters your eyes, nose, mouth and other orifices. The virus does not infect via skin contact. Just bodily fluid contact. eg if someone sneezes in close proximity and you manage to breathe in the virus carried by the aerosolized mucus. Transmission is just like the flu.

If you wear latex gloves and handle the virus you can still get infected if you remove the gloves improperly and then rub your eyes, mouth or nose without washing your hands properly.

If you suspect contact with a case, contact your doctor immediately. Incubation period of the virus means it can spread wildly for days without even being aware.

A woman was photographed wearing a hazmat suit at Dulles Airport in Washington DC yesterday in what looks like an act of extreme paranoia over the Ebola virus.

i honestly dont think its an extreme act of paranoia at all. With the incubation period of Ebola even the counter clerks could have it and not know

Man touching up the hazardous waste too, like he trying to get it.

http://metro.co.uk/2014/10/16/whos-the-idiot-with-the-clipboard-mystery-man-boards-plane-for-ebola-victim-without-hazmat-suit-4908430/
The man with the clipboard then boarded the plane.

When the plane disembarked, he was spotted again without a hazmat suit as Ms Vinson was transferred into an ambulance.

The man was also seen grabbing a container and bin bag full of hazmat waste from one of the medical team in a suit.

This is an ignorant statement..... I'm not sure if they should stop or not stop Carnival but if Ebola reaches here it won't matter if you participate or not in Carnival....it will not discriminate. It not gonna share in Carnival events and no where else.[/quote
I agree with what you said, it could reach here carnival or no carnival, but don.t you think that with the large crowds of people gathered containment is impossible and larger numbers of people would be sick at the same time thus overwhelming the health system. Whereas w/o carnival and large crowds that go with it, and individuals taking the necessary precautions the number of infected may be managed more effectively. Just my opinion, what you think.
