Local Diego Martin ~ Diamond Vale

Another Call For Ban the sales on Fireworks

Sunday27th - I found this dog on the corner of Aquamarine Dr. and Jasper Ave. in Diamond Vale last night at about 10. He'd been run over and couldn't move.

He's blind and the vet said he is about 10 years old. His right hind leg is broken and he needs surgery for a ruptured bladder.

Please contact me if you know the owner or if you can share this so that the owner might be able to find him. I walked around looking but with no success.

He is at NorthWest Clinic on Mucurapo Rd. The vet recommends putting him down as she doesn't think he will be able to make it through the surgery.

Thanks,
Lori

^^Nice. Always thought that was Adesh's song inno.

That Camouflage Defence Act is still stupid and outdated. Most Camo looks NOTHING like the Defence Force issue clothing. Think it's about time that ridiculous law is reviewed.

I've even seen Kes, Machel and other entertainers perform in camo, in full view of the authorities.

Time for the law to be updated.

Local PM Address

This is the reason why the PM's address to the nation was late

The original recording was sent in the wrong format and “due to inexplicable technical difficulties, between Government Information Services Division (GISD) and the Caribbean New Media Group (CNMG),

The broadcast was unable to be aired as scheduled at 8 p.m," a release from the Office of the Prime Minister stated

Local Carnival Documentary Trailer

The Other Side of Carnival is a 45-minute documentary that explores Carnival's social and economic impact on Trinidad & Tobago.

With more than 60 interviews from professors, medical staff, police officers, government officials, students, tourists, every day locals and more, The Other Side of Carnival is able to highlight that while Carnival is an exciting occasion, it is a festival that creates turmoil, which is not widely visible...or is it just simply ignored?

Known as "The Greatest Show on Earth" by the citizens, this documentary captures the roots of Carnival and how far some go to keep the original idea alive, and how others attempt to integrate change.

Consummating over two years of research and interviews and with the coordination of a multi-national crew (Trinidad & Tobago, US and UK), The Other Side of Carnival does not pass judgment on Carnival in Trinidad & Tobago, but aims to bring an awareness of the type of influence that Carnival has on the population.

Local South ~ White Hawk

The hardest person to please is myself so I almost didn't post this. The experience was nice though.

This was my one and only close encounter with a White Hawk (Leucopternis albicollis).

My friend and I went out to do some birding one morning and just as I slowed the car, we heard the screaming sound coming towards us from the right.

The bird flew over the car and landed on this branch.I was able to take this picture and even walk around to the front of the bird.

It was all about timing
