His Majesty's Government view with favor the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavors to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing nonJewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country.

George C. Marshall, very high ranking US Army general during WW2, and soon after the US Secretary of State was highly opposed to creating Israel after the war because he said it would inflame and engulf the region in conflict. And he was right.

As part of the 1948 Marshall Plan to rebuild Europe, Secretary of State Marshall "recommended the creation of a United Nations trusteeship with limits on Jewish immigration and a division of Palestine into separate Jewish and Arab provinces but not states."

President Truman however went ahead with the creation of the state of Israel in 1948. The very next day war started.

The region's problems will never be solved until the end of the next World War and a new treaty, territory and global resolution is created from ashes.
