Xabi Alonso faces three months on the sidelines after fracturing a metatarsal at training with Real Madrid on Wednesday morning.

"The Real Madrid player Xabi Alonso has suffered today a fracture of the fifth metatarsal of his right foot as radiological tests have revealed to which has been submitted by Real Madrid Sanitas medical services.” said the short club statement, which did not specify the expected recovery time."
