Since all the photography gurus in here I won't start a new thread, is the Fujifilm A100 Digicam a good beginner camera?

I just had the camera with me and did a little drive around..

I find they're ok for a point and shoot, even at higher resolutions they were good.

my dad used to develop his old b/w pics when I was a wee lad.......I have tons of old b/w negatives from wallerfield.....all I need is a negative scanner
He stopped using the Yashica when film and studios with darkrooms beacme harder to come by..........camera still works, and still takes great shots, especially for enlargements
