One of the watchmen at my workplace died this past weekend, he didn't make it out of his house. Had sudden breathing problems and died, no underlying conditions afaik, seemed to be pretty healthy, had both shots but not sure which exactly.

The spread is still out there and this is from BOTH the vaccinated AND the unvaccinated, more so the from the latter.

Harmful particles are still lingering out there, and ppl who are NOT protecting themselves properly are being infected.

That's just for everybody else. At the RHAs front line worker, back burner worker, close prolonged covid contact or not they making you work everyday normal. The only protocols there is either you're too sick to ignore or if not you just avoid dealing with management and take your own quarantine and able to get tested.

There is no hiding from Omicron.

Pay attention to what happens in the UK with Omicron because UK for some reason or the other always seems to be 'ahead' in covid spread/vaccination/response.

While the data from RSA looks promising (that Omicron is mild), we'll see how that holds up in the UK. It's a good experiment as 70% of the population are fully vaxxed and Boris is trying to get as much people as possible boosted by end of December.

So.......PAY ATTENTION TO THE UK DEATH RATE OVER THE COMING WEEKS.

This exactly, seems like it's easily beating natural immunity. We still need to wait and see as cases numbers will skyrocket and buss the health care system easily.

I have a trini co-worker who lives in the UK who isn't vaccinated and got covid over the summer, he assumed natural immunity would protect him, now today he tells me he has covid again (so most likely omicron). So far he said he's got fatigue, sore throat and a cough, also plenty yampie (for some reason he mentioned that ).

the real issue is hospitalizations. omicron will generate a tonne of cases cuz it spreading very fast- like 1 infecting 6 on average.

though even a 1-5% hospitalization rate with a huge number of cases will send a considerable number to hospital.

What about long covid? . Can't forget about that. If omicron, evading the vaccine, and vaccinated people still get covid, even though they not hospitalized, they will get long covid.

CDC data indicate Omicron is starting to eat into Delta’s U.S. dominance

The new variant accounted for 2.9% of sequenced Covid-19 cases in the United States in the week ending Dec. 11. The week before, 0% of cases were from Omicron. Delta accounted for essentially all of the other sequenced cases, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The new figures, updated Tuesday, indicate that Omicron started circulating before that week, given how long it can take for infections to be sequenced and reported. They show that Omicron’s advantage over the highly transmissible Delta variant is becoming noticeable in this country.

The figure is likely to increase dramatically, given the pattern in other countries. When better-spreading variants enter a new area with other viral iterations circulating, it can take weeks for them to account for even a few percent of all cases. But from there, their prevalence can skyrocket.

This week, virus trackers in Washington state said that clues from testing results suggest Omicron is rapidly on the rise there. In a tweet Tuesday, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said Omicron was accounting for about 13% of sequenced cases in New York and New Jersey.
