So when i not at home or at work where there is no WIFI im unable to connect to the internet on my phone which bothers me (being the internet whore that i am).

So i called Bmobile just now and ask them about it, they said that the sims from the blackberry with internet is designed to work in BB's alone...but i believe there were other users in here who transfered from BB to Android with their sim with internet and was working fine.

So i asked the CSR from bmobile about the Android packages, she said i can only get an Android package if i bought the phone from them :?
Furthermore she goes on to state that the SGS2 doesnt come with the Android plan and that id have to use GPRS :?
They only have Android packages on the Galaxy Pro, Galaxy S and the Google Nexus :?

So i ask her whats the point in having the SGS2 for sale if yr not offering the Android plan with it, she replies i really cannot answer you at this time sir. Considering to call Digicel and see what they have to offer in terms of plans for the sgs2.

Anyone using the bb sim in their Android or currently uses the Android plan?

That's completely untrue. I used to use a BB social plan on my SGS2. All that's required is the appropriate APN settings and everything works fine. Idk why you're getting bad service with it though because I'm still.. Technically.. using a BB plan and it works fine. Only downtime I experience is when other BlackBerry users also experience downtime when bmobile's blackberry service is giving trouble

yeh think i downloaded APN manager from yr advice last time, i see alot of bmobile settings for internet and mms but dont really know how to set it.

U don't need an app, I never used one to setup mine at least. Go to settings> wireless and connections> mobile network > access point names and click options and make a new access point and fill in ONLY a name and apn.

Name : anything (I used bmobile Internet)

apn:internet

And that's it. It should be good there.. Also what rom/modem you using? I had issues on CM7 (stable) with my edge not connecting at times.

Wheelbarrow, S_2NR is correct, it is ROM dependant, toggling airplane mode should work most of the time, so would waiting, using an APN Manager to toggle the data on/off or rebooting, but bare in mind it doesn't work 100% of the time and it can get annoying

I upgraded ROM/kernel/radio and now I do not have the issue at all.

^ x2 I had that issue with CM7

No probs. Lemme know how it works. If it doesn't work too well it might be worth a shot to root and flash some new roms/modems

Software Data Cable Connects and Transfers Data to Your Android Phone, No Cables Required

Android: If you've ever forgotten a USB cable and need a way to transfer data to your Android phone from your PC (or vice versa), Software Data Cable is a free app for Android that turns your phone into a networked storage device you can browse from your computer, no cables attached.
After installing Software Data Cable, the app allows you to connect to and browse your phone's files and folders from any computer on the same network. The app works best when your computer is on the same Wi-Fi network as your phone.Just drop the IP address of your phone in your browser, and you can see your phone's entire contents, complete with the option to move, copy, and delete files if you need to.

If all you want is to get a file from your desktop to your Android phone, you may already use Dropbox to do it quickly, and there's nothing wrong with that—it's faster than this. Software Data Cable is a better option for people who don't trust a cloud service with their data, don't subscribe to Dropbox or another file syncing service, or want the flexibility to manage their device from their computer—and, of course, forgot their data cable. It's free in the Android App Market.

Android 5.0 Jelly Bean to arrive in Q2 with Chrome OS dual-boot

Ice Cream Sandwich only has a single percent of market share, but Google seems to be on the verge of releasing its successor. Latest rumors have it that Android's next release - 5.0 Jelly Bean - will be unveiled in the second quarter of this year.
According to the often reliable DigiTimes, who quote Taiwan-based supply chain makers, Android 5.0 Jelly Bean will bring further optimizations for larger screen devices - tablets and netbook computers.
One of the key features of the upcoming Android release will be its ability to dual-boot Chrome OS. The cloud-based platform still struggles to make an impact and Google is obviously planning on using the wildly popular Android to change that.
Dual-booting will also make Android 5.0 Jelly Bean much easier to market with computer makers. Given the popularity of the Asus Transformer Prime, we guess there might be a niche for ultra-portable computers with super long battery life and good performance, even if they don't run a regular desktop OS.
We'll have to wait and see about that. For now we are circling June 27 on our calendars - it's the day when the Google I/O developer event begins and if an Android 5.0 Jelly Bean announcement is to happen in Q2 - that will certainly be the place.

Box for Android updated, new UI and collaboration features along with 50GB free for everyone

Box have been on somewhat of a roll of late. They've been offering out free storage to LG and Sony Ericsson owners by the bucket. Today they updated their Android application bringing with it some new collaboration features, and for a limited time only free 50GB worth of storage for everyone who downloads the app and logs in before March 23. I didn't get an additional 50GB, so we'll say that it probably doesn't apply if you already got 50GB free out of them before.

One of Box's stronger features is its collaboration tools, and now right from within the app you can invite people to collaborate on your files. They also put in support for commenting on individual files too. Pretty nifty.

The UI also gets updated, and now makes use of the standard action bar. Another useful addition is the ability to batch multiple file uploads at once and the app will now support being moved to the SD card.

Box are definitely going big, and while Dropbox is preferred by a good chunk of the market -- free desktop sync helps -- 50GB for free is too good to turn away. Hit the download links below to help yourselves.

Guys,
Is there anyone here knowledgeable about android, who might be able to help me with my phone?
I went and play fass and tried to install ice cream sandwich and when i installed the clockwork mod the phone wouldn't boot, it went into "bootloop" and if that wasnt enough I downloaded odin3 and tried to flash back to stock rom and now I think its bricked.

you guys know anyone who can flash back to gingerbread 2.3.3?

you guys can pm me or call 678-0533 if you know of anyone

Thank You

Samsung Galaxy Beam Is Both a Smartphone and Projector

BARCELONA: The Mobile World Congress hasn’t even officially kicked off yet, and Samsung is already on fire, announcing devices left and right. After the 10.1-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, next in line is a smartphone/mobile projector combo called Samsung Galaxy Beam.

The device’s dual-core 1 GHz CPU, 4-inch, 800×480 screen, 5-megapixel rear camera (with an additional VGA one on the front) and Android 2.3 don’t do much to differentiate it from the other mid-to-high-range Androids.

What makes it different from most other smartphones on the market is its “ultra-bright,” 15-lumen projector, which lets you project a 50-inch wide image on a wall – really handy for presentations or those moments when you want to share your holiday photos with your family and friends.

Interestingly enough, Samsung says the device has 6 GB of RAM memory, but we’re seriously doubting that, and will update the article when we learn more.
