Description

Showers, at times heavy, and thunderstorms are expected over the period due to the presence of the ITCZ (Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone). Gusty winds, street/flash flooding can be expected near heavy showers and thunderstorms. Landslides/landslips are possible in areas so prone.

A tropical wave (AOC 1) is currently noted along 55W south of 15N and moving west at 10 to 15 knots. Scattered thunderstorms are noted along this wave. There are no signs of organization and tropical development is not expected. However, these thunderstorms will impact the Trinidad region through the day today

Another tropical wave (AOC 2) is noted along 43W south of 15N and moving west at 15 to 20 knots. Thunderstorm activity has developed to the east of the wave axis, but tropical development is not expected. This wave will reach Trinidad on Friday, and enhanced thunderstorm activity will become possible.

A third tropical wave (AOC 3) is noted along 31W south of 12N and moving west at 10 to 15 knots. Some isolated showers and storms are noted along the wave axis, but tropical develop is not anticipated. The wave will reach Trinidad late this weekend or early next week, and minimal impacts are anticipated.

A fourth tropical wave (AOC 4) is noted along 23W south of 15N and moving westward at 10 to 15 knots. This wave is not expected to develop tropically, and may approach Trinidad toward the middle of next week. Impacts are expected to be minimal at this time.
