not a supporter of a rapid rail till society matures to diligently maintain and care for the system...

no sense spending billions for us to mash it up in a few years...

The mash up mentally stems from trini carnival culture .

Yeah I get that a bus system is much cheaper but a train system is the Best idea and a true first world idea. Yes it will take time to build but it was a great vision.

Imbert was more useless than Cadiz but at least imbert had some sort of vision. Its a damn Shame that manning didn't start that rapid rail sooner he was just all talk as well.

A great idea but again all talk. He had so much years to do it but refuses to in fact was the same PNM that scrapped our first train system to begin with. Just imagine this country had a train at one time.

I actually want RASC to address this and tell me which retard taught it was a good idea to abolish our once great train system. Yes we get that jokers like cadiz does exist and manning had by far the best idea but explain why manning never carried out the building of the rapid rail and explain why the PNM demolished the first train system.

All manning had to do was start the project and kamla would have been forced to carry it out

RASC can't address you on the abolishment of the last train service we had .
Hes a johnny come lately.

The abolishment of the train service was a result of a PNM smart man and the car dealers at that time to push for it.

The the smart man convinced the pnm to get rid of it, he lined himself up to sell the assets as scrap steel and the trains to Brazil . The guy made a mint.

The car companies push for it to get new car sales . It was as simple as that.

All the other British colonies that had train services held on to it and improve what the brits had left. Only Trinidad made a mess if it.

PNM had de insight to bring it back....

UNC/Kamla say she ent want it, den buss out a plan saying she want it...

Had PNM not proposed it, would UNC now be saying dey want it?

^^ well yeah that sounds good. But like Kamla and them afraid of that $22 billion figure, you cannot be afraid you must think about long term benefits. Make it in such a way that if the PNM ever tried to scrap the new rapid rail train system then anyone can take them to court and have them jailed its as simple as that.

Problem is if they spend $22 billion on a new train and the PNM come back in power and scrap it and pipe it out like a B14 in the beetham like our old train. According to zoom rader the PNM in conjunction with some evil person scrapped the train and pipe out the parts like a B14. I believe him on that part, it sounds pretty much how it all went down. Kamla should make it more public what the PNM did to our first train system.

Dude the moment PNM got rid of caroni. Ah set pnm ppl began ripping out caroni rail tracks and trailers for scrap. Millions was made from the scrap where a PNM insider spent not one cent to get the steel and made a mint from the sale.

The one thing pnm good at is scraping trains.

They did it twice without any beat up from the media where the public wad kept in the dark

Wait, what?

Putting a Ministry/passport/id/BIR etc office anywhere along the bus route would negate that argument.

Ministries needs to be big because varying divisions under one roof to increase efficiency and communication. All the ministries in one capital further compounds that for increase efficiency and communication for the government. This true not just for T&T but for every country and major municipality. Passport, ID, BIR are already decentralized, ppl just like the efficiency and proximity of doing all their errands in POS, a decentralized country reduces that.

Plus where on the PBR has space for a major ministry and while accessible to the commuting public, it would involve the driving public using cramped back roads or the congested main road to access it.

There is an already efficient worldwide model, government capital accessible by mass transit with some means to discourage personal vehicles by either high parking fees or limited access based on license plate numbering. All else are just pipe dreams.

Wait you drunk or what? What system was better than the train? All the government would have to do was regular upgrades to the system. PNM donkey logic.

They only got Caroni 1975 because Tate & Lyle wanted to get out.

It is a fact. Panday mishandled Caroni. The closure of Caroni was started by the Panday government, which was ready to dismantle it and sell it off. The budgetary allocations needed to revive the company were not forthcoming, and the company went from bad to worse.

The dismantling of Caroni 1975, Ltd started under his (Panday's) administration.

what do you think of these 2 quotes uttered during the last PNM term in office toyota2nr?

No way in hell anyother form of transport could be better than a train. Especially a bullet train!

A train system can move 50,000 people per hour in this country and we need something like that for rush hour, A train can move around the entire country within minutes!!

What system can possibly be better than a train?

^ think about the time wasted in traffic, how much more productive the workforce would be with a train going around Trinidad at 300KM/H We could recover 5 hours of our life everyday that we spend in traffic. Dude can you imagine going to any beach in this country within minutes?

How would you feel about going to west mall all the way from sando within minutes?

We would cut back on pollution, less people would care about driving to work and this would free up the nation's roadways. They can put it high up like in that picture I posted, scrap iron man won't be able to just cut out the tracks and go with it. This system would also pay back for itself, there are poorer countries than us in this world that still has a train system.
