i think they will turn the bridge into 3 lanes and there won't be a shoulder. i see the clear way the trees along the south bound right after the bridge and before the exit to the highway

I am sure there will be 3 lanes over the flyover.

Pity those people who are accustomed to waiting there for transport

But watching where the third lane has been introduced for the entirety of the Chaguanas / Chase Village stretch, with the new lane suddenly ending just before the flyover, it means that everyone when approaching the flyover will suddenly have to filter over one lane to the left, which again seems unsafe and nonsensical to me.

Partial opening with 2km of 3 lanes after Brentwood south bound. When people use the Brentwood access to bypass the highway they cause more traffic.

heading south over the bridge will be dangerous for those close properties on the left, i think some are chain link fence
they need a proper wall for the day when a vehicle comes rolling in

that whole plan is a bunch of KAKA. that 3rd lane on both sides should be left for BUSES only. imagine leaving pos and reaching chaguanas or carlsen field in like 15-20 minutes and a taxi stand by globe city take you anywhere in central. Leave work at 4pm and reach home by 4:30pm. I for one will take that bus instead of sitting hours in traffic morning and evening.

I would think that's the common sense approach, but they already painting lines on the new lane, so doesn't look that way.

The new highway northbound from debe to Corinth is also a shitshow when it rains.
Random deep pools on both lanes like a slalom course.
And its not shallow either, felt the hydroplane at 80, so made a mental note to cruise at 60 or less when it's raining down that side.

To tell you how stupid trinis are over 60m for a 1% reduction in traffic, the lanes aren't the problem the problem is the number of cars on the roads. One more lane isn't going to solve anything If everyday over 600 cars are added to the roads.

I would have designated and enforced one lane of the highway as a car pool lane during peak hours (for three lane highways).

The 2-3pm traffic heading south is no more. Can't speak about it after that time.
That was frustrating for the time the works was being done.

There used to be traffic backed up from just before the Charlieville walkover to Chaguanas from before 2pm on an evening. My turn off is the price plaza roundabout.
Now it is clear at the same time and no red lights as far as the Chaguanas flyover so up to there and that time all looks good.

Seems that this will make a difference. It's amazing how long the job took . If they have to reach San Fernando, it will take ten years.

like they managed to thief a piece of the left shoulder on the flyover lol
southbound is still two lanes on the flyover, seems they still doing works by the nursing home, so a similar thing may happen there.

The traffic has eased southbound a lot. Probably starts nearer to endeavour flyover now at peak time but clears up quickly.

But both third lanes are bumpy, you would have thought they would try to repave those areas before everything is opened.

Asking a possibly dotish question, but would a border parkade and reliable small bus service into the heart of Chaguanas reduce in-town traffic and reduce the pileup at peak time?

Assuming Trinis would feel comfortable with not having their car within bluetooth distance.

That Price Plaza roundabout greatly increased the traffic coming out of Lange Park and Endeavour also, as it's just too small.
