SUSPECT IN THIS MORNING'S DOUBLE MURDER ON THE RUN.
UNCUTT NEWS:
A soldier who murdered his child's mother and her mother was granted bail by a JP on charges of breaching a Protection Order even though the police strongly objected to such.
And, in the presence of the police, he also made threats to kill the woman and did exactly that on Tuesday.
This is the second instance in which we have reported that a JP granted bail at a police station to an accused already on bail for serious offences.
43-year-old Calida Schamber and her 66-year-old mother Carmelita De Leon were shot and killed by a member of the Defence Force.
The incident happened at Riverside Drive in Glencoe on Tuesday 2nd January 2024 and is the country's first double murder for 2024.
Sources disclosed to Uncutt News Media that Calida, an employee with ANSA motors, was a victim of domestic abuse against her child's father, Tesson Bradshaw.
Bradshaw is a Warrant Officer 2 with the TTDF who managed the Cumuto Military Camp.
We understand that Bradshaw in the presence and hearing of police, said he would kill Calida.
There were several investigations against Bradshaw between officers at the Four Roads and the Maloney Police Stations.
In early December, Bradshaw was detained by Maloney police after he threatened to kill Calida, whom he has an 11-month-old baby with.
Days later, Bradshaw was charged, after advice was sought from the DPP's Office, with the following offences against Calida:
1. Common assault (pointing a firearm at the victim);
2. Assault occasioning actual bodily harm;
3. Harassment;
4. Four counts of breach of a Protection Order (previously issued by a Magistrate);
5. Choking with intent to cause grievous bodily harm;
6. Indecent assault; and
7. Housebreaking with intent.
Justice of the Peace Wahid Mohammed later granted $300,000 bail to Bradshaw with the following conditions and ordered that he appear before an Arima Magistrate on January 10th.
Bradshaw's aunt was named as the surety court documents revealed.
The following conditions were attached to the bail granted to Bradshaw by J.P. Mohammed who released him into Military custody:
1. He is to remain at Camp Cumuto Barracks under the supervision of a Sergeant Major;
2. He's not to contact Calida by phone, social media, or by a third party;
3. He's to report daily to the Sergeant Major at Camp Cumuto; and
4. He's to be escorted to and from Camp Cumuto by a senior officer if he must leave to attend to business or personal issues.
Uncutt News Media understands that after bail was granted and accessed, some issues within the TTDF resulted in the JP amending the bail conditions.
Court documents showed that the JP, at the Maloney Police Station, varied the bail as follows which ordered that Bradshaw stay at an aunt's residence in D'Abadie; report to the Maloney Police Station every Friday; and refrain from communicating with Calida.
1. The defendant is to reside at his aunt's residence in D'Abadie;
Sources disclosed to Uncutt News Media that on December 29th, 2023, Bradshaw went to a residence where Calida was staying at Riverside Drive in West Moorings.
There he breached the order of the JP and the initial Protection Order by a Magistrate. He assaulted Calida's brother and was attacked by the dogs, who were familiar with him before he fled the scene.
We understand that several attempts were made by the police to arrest Bradshaw for the new offences committed while on bail.
He was never arrested and on Tuesday, he returned to the residence where he murdered Calida and her mother before fleeing the scene.
Tesson had been stalking Calida and showing up at her home in a clandestine manner often dressed in dark clothing, a family source disclosed to Uncutt News Media.
The source added that the ferocious dogs were familiar with him when he stayed at the house with Calida for several years in the past.
"He even blocked her vehicle on the highway in Valsayn sometime ago."
