Those are light activity submersibles for tourists to look at fish, P.I. Oceangate's Titan submersible dives past natural light penetration levels and even lower than Navy craft.

Sub sea current prolly push that farrrrrr away from last known contact
And given the depth, that will ve hard to find

Well from the estimated oxygen capacity we can say RIP to those men... Even if found now would highly likely to be alive

Or they got trapped in something

I'd like to believe they have an emergency buoyancy system that will just inflate and lift the whole thing. But I saw pics of the worksmanship so Im doubtful.

Also the controls was a cheap USB game controller too  Imagine if the batteries just died and that's the main reason they stick

Some interesting facts I learned from this:

Deep sea pressure is the limiting reason why we know more about space than what's in our oceans.

The US Navy also uses controllers to pilot subs. New recruits are very familiar with the XBox controllers and their use has reduced training time considerably.

The US Navy was responsible for spurring an independent researcher Robert Ballard on to develop ultra deep sea submersible technology, which is how the wrecks of the Titanic and Bismarck were found.

The Bismarck's location is highly restricted as Robert Bollard accurately predicted the deep sea tourism and artifact hunting that came to be with the Titanic's wreck.

Steam's Gabe Newell has a company that owns a manned submersible capable of searching for the Titan, but it only has the means to locate, not retrieve.

The circumstances which surround this incident are quite complex and speak to our nature.
Our desire as a civilisation to explore and stretch natures allowable limits is both a blessing and a curse.
Many of our breakthroughs have resulted from the exploits of real and fearless explorers.
On the other hand some of our saddest moments is when we lose some of our intrepid souls.
There is no way on earth I would ever be visiting the Titanic or Mount Everest, but I pay homage to those explorers who have provided us with information of extreme places and events which allow us to improve our quality of life.

A debris field has been discovered within the search area by an ROV near the Titanic, the US Coast Guard has just announced.

Experts within the unified command are evaluating the information.

A statement from the Coast Guard says the Horizon Arctic’s ROV (remotely operated vehicle) found debris on the sea floor near the Titanic wreck.

seems they didn't have transponders to echo locate the vessel during normal operation....kind of wild based on industry standard

Seems like The men was banging on the sub right up till the oxygen tanks was empty, giving rescuers chance to find them and then when it gone somebody in there force the sub to implode to stop the suffering.

The Titan submersible imploded, killing all 5 on board, the US Coast Guard says

A submersible carrying five people to the Titanic imploded near the site of the shipwreck and killed everyone on board, authorities said Thursday, bringing a tragic end to a saga that included an urgent around-the-clock search and a worldwide vigil for the missing vessel.

Coast Guard officials said during a news conference that they've notified the families of the crew of the Titan, which had been missing since Sunday.

The sliver of hope that remained for finding the five men alive was wiped away early Thursday, when the submersible's 96-hour supply of oxygen was expected to run out and the Coast Guard announced that debris had been found roughly 1,600 feet from the Titanic in North Atlantic waters.

“This was a catastrophic implosion of the vessel,” said Rear Adm. John Mauger, of the First Coast Guard District.

Navy likely detected sound of the implosion on Sunday: Official

A senior U.S. Navy official confirmed to ABC News that an underwater acoustic detection system heard on Sunday what was likely the implosion of the Titan submersible. The information was immediately shared with the U.S. Coast Guard on Sunday and analysis continued afterwards.

"The U.S. Navy conducted an analysis of acoustic data and detected an anomaly consistent with an implosion or explosion in the general vicinity of where the Titan submersible was operating when communications were lost," the senior official told ABC News in a statement. "While not definitive, this information was immediately shared with the Incident Commander to assist with the ongoing search and rescue mission."

According to the official, "This information was considered with the compilation of additional acoustic data provided by other partners and the decision was made to continue our mission as a search and rescue and make every effort to save the lives on board.”

Separately, a U.S. defense official said an analysis of the “banging” noises picked up by sonar buoys were not from the missing submersible but were either natural ocean sounds, biological noises or noises associated with the surface response vessels.

In the words of the late Stockton Rush, the CEO of the tour..,,

“At some point, safety just is pure waste,” Stockton told journalist David Pogue in an interview last year. “I mean, if you just want to be safe, don’t get out of bed. Don’t get in your car. Don’t do anything.”

And that’s how disregard for safety gets you killed. It’s mostly a rich people thing who think money can buy their way out from following the rules. I’m sure his thinking changed while sucking out his last few breaths from the oxygen.

you know this actually gives a lot of insight into the human condition. Everybody know all ah we hadda dead out someday at some time. But how people react to that is different.

Some people want to be cautious and have things to do. Like that 19-year old guy on the sub-- he had his things to do and didn't want to go on the sub. He should not have gone on the sub.

But other people ready to dead. That Stockton fella in his 60's and gone through who knows what in his life that make he reach the somewhat madman position of building a hacky submarine that can handle extreme depths most of the time.

The implosion likely kill him out instantly. He dead before he knew anything was wrong. The man live life on his terms and dead on terms he might not have wanted but terms he had accepted.

I still donno if to go on that Atlantis Submarine. The website saying it on recertification. And apparently it have a hurricane coming. I have things to do still I not ready to dead out
