Not where I was going with that but I hear you.
Was heading down the route of certain frequencies affecting the human behavior in certain ways, like those specific frequency binaural beats to relax,heal ,etc.
Not bashing anyone's preference in music, you can listen to what you want.But in light of what I mentioned here, most of those zesser types play mostly those mids 'tops' which go upwards from 100 hz.
As a music composer, when you leave out certain things that a person is expecting to hear, where it be bass, drum notes etc, it builds tension,as your brain doesn't get a musical resolution in an expected way.This is also known as hype.Old school music, rap,rock,hip hop, reggae was well composed musically.Nowadays is any fool with a laptop and basic knowledge of the addiction formula can call themselves a composer.
The frequency thing is mostly theory.The tension/hype part has been tried and tested.
