Anybody ever made a brick oven, gas or firewood?

ow that working, I planning to build one sometime later in the year and now in the planning stages, looking for fire blocks or what can be used as fire block down here and where to get high temperature cement or refractory cement.

I saw a fireplace in a coffee house in Gran couva recently, they said they got their bricks and cement at Resal hardware

I got some from leighton rice last year. Lil on the pricey side… and I ran out. I saw a vid of using pulverized fired clay mixed with cement. SonI pulverized some red clay blocks (took forever to get to a dust like consistency) it works just as well so far.

Yep, he did invite to see the one he has a model at his office, whenever i up there will pass and look at it.

the height and air flow is critical otherwise you end up with sooty smoke and trouble getting hot

Currently thinking of a dome type, like an Igloo.

and using something like a forge burner to fire it up.


How yours functioning, any tips?

A friend made a pizza oven using the bricks from an old petrotrin furnace that was destroyed decades ago. Got some really historic bricks there. Finds like those are once in a lifetime
