to quote honest Abe
"lessons not learned in blood are soon forgotten"

The only way for this to end is when the oppressors to be taught (in the most painful manner possible) that such will no longer be tolerated by the potential victims. problem with this tho, is that it requires martyrs.

Minneapolis Seethes Over George Floyd's Death As Trump Calls Protesters 'THUGS'

Postby adnj » May 29th, 2020, 11:56 am

Minneapolis is burning.

For a third straight night, the Midwestern city saw clashes between police and protesters after the death of George Floyd, a black man whose arresting officer was recorded kneeling on his neck for minutes on end.

The four officers involved have been fired and the incident is under federal investigation, but demonstrators are not satisfied. Some of them stormed the 3rd Police Precinct, setting fire to that building and others in the neighborhood.

Image

President Trump, who called Floyd's death "very sad and tragic" earlier this week, said early Friday that he had told Minnesota's governor that "the Military is with him all the way."

He also described the source of the unrest as "THUGS" — a word widely criticized for bearing racial overtones.

"Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts," he continued, in a tweet flagged by Twitter for violating its policy against glorifying violence.

The president's comments came after a night of chaos in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, where several fires raged and some businesses were sacked, according to Minnesota Public Radio. Protesters also overran the 3rd Precinct after police withdrew in an attempt to mitigate tensions.

"Brick and mortar is not as important as life," Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said, noting that though the building was emptied, patrols would continue in the neighborhood. "We are doing absolutely everything that we can to keep the peace."

Minneapolis has seethed since the release of the video depicting Floyd's arrest by a white police officer. The officer plants a knee on his neck for at least seven minutes as Floyd cries for help and eventually falls silent and as bystanders shout that he's dying.

The officer did not remove his knee until paramedics showed up to move Floyd's unresponsive body into an ambulance. He was reported dead later that night.

Since then, Minneapolis has seen a series of escalating protests over his death, while anger has been evident in other cities, as well.

Protesters have turned out to express their outrage as far as Los Angeles and New York City. Meanwhile in Louisville, Ky., demonstrators gathered Thursday to protest death of Breonna Taylor, a black woman shot by police in her home in March.

27-CR-20-12646 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota STATEMENT OF PROBABLE CAUSE 5/29/2020

On May 25, 2020, someone called 911 and reported that a man bought merchandise from Cup Foods at 3759 Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota with a counterfeit $20 bill. At 8:08 p.m., Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) Officers Thomas Lane and J.A. Kueng arrived with their body worn cameras (BWCs) activated and running. The officers learned from store personnel that the man who passed the counterfeit $20 was parked in a car around the corner from the store on 38th Street.

BWC video obtained by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension shows that the officers approached the car, Lane on the driver's side and Kueng on the passenger side. Three people were in the car; George Floyd was in the driver's seat, a known adult male was in the passenger seat and a known adult female was sitting in the backseat. As Officer Lane began speaking with Mr. Floyd, he pulled his gun out and pointed it at Mr. Floyd's open window and directed Mr. Floyd to show his hands. When Mr. Floyd put his hands in the steering wheel, Lane put his gun back in its holster.

While Officer Kueng was speaking with the front seat passenger, Officer Lane ordered Mr. Floyd out of the car, put his hands on Mr. Floyd, and pulled him out of the car. Officer Lane handcuffed Mr. Floyd. Mr. Floyd actively resisted being handcuffed.

Once handcuffed, Mr. Floyd became compliant and walked with Officer Lane to the sidewalk and sat on the ground at Officer Lane's direction. In a conversation that lasted just under two minutes, Officer Lang asked Mr. Floyd for his name and identification. Officer Lane asked Mr. Lloyd if he was "on anything" and explained that he was arresting Mr. Lloyd for passing counterfeit currency.

Officers Kueng and Lane stood Mr. Floyd up and attempted to walk Mr. Floyd to their squad car (MPD 320) at 8:14 p.m. Mr. Floyd stiffened up, fell to the ground, and told the officers he was claustrophobic.

MPD Officers Derek Chauvin (the defendant) and Tou Thoa then arrived in a separate squad car.

The officers made several attempts to get Mr. Floyd in the backseat of squad 320 from the driver's side. Mr. Floyd did not voluntarily get in the car and struggled with the officers by intentionally falling down, saying he was not going in the car, and refusing to stand still. Mr. Floyd is over six feet tall and weighs more than 200 pounds.

While standing outside the car, Mr. Floyd began saying and repeating that he could not breathe. The defendant went to the passenger side and tried to get Mr. Floyd into the car from that side and Lane and Kueng assisted.

The defendant pulled Mr. Floyd out of the passenger side of the squad car at 8:19:38 p.m. and Mr. Floyd went to the ground face down and still handcuffed. Kueng held Mr. Floyd's back and Lane held his legs. The defendant placed his left knee in the area of Mr. Floyd's head and neck. Mr. Floyd said, "I can't breathe" multiple times and repeatedly said, "Mama" and "please," as well. The defendant and the other two officers stayed in their positions.

The officers said, "You are talking fine" to Mr. Floyd as he continued to move back and forth. Lane asked, "should we roll him on his side?" and the defendant said, "No, staying put where we got him." Officer Lane said, "I am worried about excited delirium or whatever." The defendant said, "That's why we have him on his stomach." None of the three officers moved from their positions.

BWC video shows Mr. Floyd continue to move and breathe. At 8:24:24, Mr. Floyd stopped moving. At

2

27-CR-20-12646 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 8:25:31 the video appears to show Mr. Floyd ceasing to breathe or speak. Lane said, "want to roll him5/o2n9/2020

his side." Kueng checked Mr. Floyd's right wrist for a pulse and said, "I couldn't find one." None of the officers moved from their positions.

At 8:27:24, the defendant removed his knee from Mr. Floyd's neck. An ambulance and emergency medical personnel arrived, the officers placed Mr. Floyd on a gurney, and the ambulance left the scene. Mr. Floyd was pronounced dead at Hennepin County Medical Center.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner (ME) conducted Mr. Floyd's autopsy on May 26, 2020. The full report of the ME is pending but the ME has made the following preliminary findings. The autopsy revealed no physical findings that support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation. Mr. Floyd had underlying health conditions including coronary artery disease and hypertensive heart disease. The combined effects of Mr. Floyd being restrained by the police, his underlying health conditions and any potential intoxicants in his system likely contributed to his death.

The defendant had his knee on Mr. Floyd's neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds in total. Two minutes and 53 seconds of this was after Mr. Floyd was non-responsive. Police are trained that this type of restraint with a subject in a prone position is inherently dangerous.

Defendant is in custody.

(1) arrested or that other lawful steps be taken to obtain Defendant's appearance in court; or

Yup. Protest is one thing, but some pests taking advantage of the situation. Down to the wipipo.

I'm in support of the blm, but decimating businesses who have nothing to do with the situation is not how to do it.

And people are justifying it.

It's truly sad what happened to Floyd and I agree that people need to stand up to this Injustice and protest and if it has to turn violent against the authorities preventing them from doing just that then so be it. However I cannot condone random looting, burning and acts of terror. To those supporting it what if this situation has happened in Trinidad and protestors suddenly started attacking your community and business or that of your relatives even though your may be on their side? It's just like 1990 except the looters then were looking to eat a food.
I have to side with Trump on this one

It appears that ppl, with a clandestine interest in the protests degenerating in riots and looting, were fanning the flames

Vids are circulating showing individuals breaking store windows and setting vehicles on fire, seemingly to incite the mass of protesters

Riots only go on for awhile till people calm down, and looting only continues until there's nothing left to loot or someone protesting the items they want to take.
It will all be over by Tuesday for the latest.

Because for some, Trump is a racist so anything he says or does is as a racial microaggression, overtone, dog-whistle etc.

Remember is election season eh so they will try to connect this to him in some form even though in reality, the issue of police brutality in black america is going on for decades.

Just finished watching Tucker Carlson tonight, his show is totally different to anything else right now on Cable News.

Tucker exposed Ted Cruz for a piece of sheit the sick sh!t refuses to even acknowledge that the police committed murder.

However Tucker made an even better point, he showed a clip from 1992 with a old black man crying and shouting at a mob of black youths who burned his business and his truck to the ground, showcasing how easy it is to forget that Riots are NOT protests.

These people burning down the place and smashing everything couldn't care less about Floyd, this issue has become even bigger than Floyd now because this level of rioting is basically burning down entire blocks and the mobs are moving on when they finished with one to another.

CNN and MSNBC etc isn't reporting any of this they are still claiming all these people are peaceful protesters, when we could damn well see they are thugs looting and burning down businesses and cars even people's homes. They stone down CNN Headquarters in Atlanta mash up the glass and thing if you see how serious this thing is eh.

More than Likely they going to have to send in the Military and a whole lot of people might end up dying now. All because some sad sack of sh!t police murdered an innocent black man with his hands in his pockets. And the sacks of sh!ts at CNN and MSNBC couldn't help but help promote the rioting they actually encouraged a lot of this because guess what? this kind of bacchanal sells and makes good news.

All violent protestors should be dealt with humanely or inhumanely, depends on their resistance.

It appears the protestors want to be gracefully and comfortably apprehended and we must show sympathy for their aches, pains and health issues. But yeh, cry justice and police brutality and burn sheit down.

These people just loveeeee when these unfortunate events happen so they can do what they want. One of these days a police officer is going to go into a shooting mode.

Deadly force is needed to deal with this disgusting behavior.
