I'm planning to get the p40 pro plus in white.

No need for the 512 version the 256 gb will be good for me. Will get it month end hopefully

BTW its always better to get the Chinese 00 version quicker updates and beta versions, only down side is no google feed (swiping right) and no changing launcher.

Actually I bought a Chinese specific smartphone a couple years ago. Huge mistake, some annoying apps that were only in Chinese. Especially the music app that couldn't switch to English. I got rid of it in 3months.

Depends on what you consider to be great camera quality and if price affects anything.

Pictures - color accuracy, megapixel, low-light performance, zoom etc
Video - 8K video, 4K video, 60 Frames per second, stabilization, zoom etc

I think the P30 Lite is the Cepep version of the P30 Pro.

With regards to the P40 line you have to remember no google store/apps out of the box, you would have to install additional software from USB or otherwise, to get it to work and some people who did it, already had it stop working a few days later.

I not really a Samsung fan but S20+ had most of them boxes ticked.
The S20 Ultra is the one the 100x "hybrid" zoom but I find it not worth the price.
Picture/video gets blurry when the digital zoom kicks in (on all phones)

It have other big brands too like Oppo, Vivo, Meizu, Nubia, Xiaomi etc some of them phones have features that don't show up on the usual suspect phones until later.
But them not readily available down here - more popular Asia/China side.
The local Samsung prices from 2nr powersellers fairly good compared to the US prices.
Customs might buss your head with price if you were to bring in something like a Sony Xperia 1ii or even the P40 pro/+.

Some 'by the way' info on Oppo.

Oppo was the first to come up with that periscope design back in 2017 but didn't put it in a phone until early 2019.
(Reno 10X was their first actual phone to have it in 2019, followed by the Find X2Pro in 2020, but Huawei may have beat them to the market with the P30pro)
https://www.forbes.com/sites/marcochiappetta/2017/02/27/oppo-drops-worlds-first-periscope-style-dual-zoom-smartphone-camera-technology-at-mwc/

Oppo was also the first to show a underscreen selfie camera - no notch, no cutout, no teardrop, no mechanical popup, no slider, no rotating main camera.
Soon after Xiaomi showed off their version.
Vivo also advertised a phone called Apex 2020 with one.
Nokia also claims to have it in the Nokia 9.3 but that phone keeps getting delayed.

And Oppo version of fast charge called Super VOOC 2.0 that can allegedly charge 0-100% in 30 minutes.
So far I think it is availble on a phone called Reno Ace.
Skip to 6:10 to see it in action

Using the Mate 20 X since after Christmas. Best device I ever had hands down. Still getting updates and NO issues.

Doubt you would get any iPhone or Galaxy S around that price.
As for buying other brands online, is a hit and miss with customs.

I seeing Titan Procurement have Samsung A51 for $2500 and A71 for $3100
I think both are better than the Huawei P30 Lite.
All the stats in gray are similar across the 3, the ones in black are the differences.

To me the pics seem around the same so the price difference would account for the extra (non-camera) features.

At that price point a Xiaomi would be your best bet. A 64gb Mi9 should run you around 340USD.

48MP three camera setup.

Check out the sony xperia 10 ii.
Let's talk have it for $2633, but the euro version, if you don't mind that.
I, myself, am trying to source a us/latin version of it but no luck thus far. Don't know if any tuner could help out with that.
