Getting Redman, shogun, elitecorolla, Tokesy and Zitty to admit that the PNM actively engages in corruption is like pulling teeth. Look at the question Redman asks knowing that the tender process was bypassed
Their silents mean that they fully support it

Sad thing is that the kiosks were marketed as faster, state of the art,

implemented right on the heels of the last immigration debacle. https://www.cnc3.co.tt/press-release/aatt-apologises-immigration-chaos-piarco-sunday

Even worse , the kiosks were never a functional part of any immigration system, and users still had to go to the immigraton officers. Some would call them decorations.

Immigration officers would tell you that they know nothing about those irrelevant machines or their purpose.

i went thru a similar kiosk in orlando airport. same system from the description of it- put in passport, scan, answer the questions on screen, take picture and fingerprint, carry printed receipt to immigration officer. There was still a long line for immigration after the kiosk, since there were only two US Immigration officers on staff for the whole plane.

https://www.cbp.gov/travel/us-citizens/apc

i think the 'speed up' for US airports comes from less time finger printing and photo taking ("biometrics"), but neither is currently done in regular T&T immigration lines. I am not aware of any need to implement biometrics in T&T passport control, but i wouldn't rule it out as the driver behind the contract.

For the cost - services like these are priced on their market value. The automated kiosks run 24/7, each kiosk potentially replacing 3+ labor shifts a day (plus overtime and holiday expenses). There is significantly more system robustness than depending on labor that may or may not show up that day.

If you also have to add in cost of biometric upgrades to current lanes, AATT might just have a good case to "do one upgrade and done"

(if US$5.1/per passenger is a good deal, I do not know).

Shakes: Stuartie and dem ent share in what allegedly pass.

Remember when Kamla moved Jack as Works Minister so that the Cabal could get its hands on the Point Fortin Highway money?

Same difference with the PNM except that Stuartie and Faris move late with the Airport contract.

Yuh ent hear how dey backtracking all of a sudden?

Novo Development used my services for a while recently, last time was about a week ago, albeit the directors looked the part, the office wasn't in keeping with "A real estate holding company which also provides project management services for construction companies and large scale development projects." . Learn something new everyday

Support?

It either right or wrong.

Value for money is one aspect.
Process is another.

Having no knowledge of either in this case,I will wait and see.

And how is that worth $3,000,000 a month exactly? Surely there must have been a more cost effective way to achieve the same end.... or am I missing something?

Yes we are missing something ..a bunch of relevant info.

Is it a rental contract?
Is it provision of a complete solution?

Anywhere you use the kiosks ,you still go to an immigration officer, so it's no different. You just go to a different line that makes the processing faster. I find it eases up the wait when you use it here because you go to an officer especially for those that used the machine, and the line is shorter . I have waited in line in Piarco for more than two hours while they process Latin Americans who can't even speak English and Caricom nationals who were interrogated longer than average.

Love how Redman and Co, adopt a wait and see when it is PNM bobol, but are judge, jury and executioner when it is non-PNM bobol. These fellers are as obvious as the nose on your face.

Immigration officers would say this, remember not to far back when they were on strike and it crippled the airport operations..

Good response by the cabinet so far. Let's hope this doesn't get pushed aside or forgotten like the Sportt iBeam Interact scandal.

Lets also hope it isn’t forgotten like emailgate and the Darrel Smith report which the PM admitted to having on his desk.
Also like fake oil where the PM saying the file on the DPP desk but the DPP come out saying he doesn’t have it.lets be fair an deal with both sides nah.

He will probably tell you it's a wait and see approach
