Yeah that part where these ISP forcing you to pay for cable TV really sucks, only 60 year old people does use that.

Everybody else use Netflix and Amazon or android box, its like how the average age of the CNN and Fox news viewer is in their 70's.
I does already try to avoid CNN andMSNBC propaganda on youtube so I really eh feel like paying for those stations.

I don't have that problem tho cause I am with flow, just pay for net and done with it. But I hope this doesn't become a trend with Flow aswell.

Anyone having problems with Flow since they switched to this 5g & 2.4g split. We have been having horrible connection and the 5g is always dropping off and disappearing from a number of devices.

Tired of calling them only to be told reboot or they doing something on their end :agrue:

its nothing they are doing on their end. both the 2.4 and 5ghz band is used by everyone on your street and it causes interference. try learning how this stuff works before calling and "agrue"

5GHz cannot penetrate brick walls very well, and the signals can be weak even if you're as little as 3 to 5 meters away from the box and blocked by a wall. 5GHz has much higher bandwidth and less interference compared to the 2.4 GHz signal, but it comes at the cost of transmittance power.

There are 3 solutions: stick to the 2.4 Ghz band set on Auto i.e. turn off the 5GHz signal in the settings, or get a WiFi Range Extender and set it up to extend the 5GHz signal, or set up a Mesh WiFi network in your house. There is nothing that Flow can do about this problem, as it's just the laws of physics.

Not sure your purpose in responding, could have just kept scrolling... What does everyone on my street have to do with a service I pay for and worked fine up until a few weeks ago?

I find people should take a stand against this price increase.
It seems as though one day Digicel could make the cheapest package 500ttd. with no protest from the consumer.

If they raising the price give more value for money.
Once people of this country stick together company like these would have to validate a price increase.

I'm sure the alleged 1% customers can't keep Digicel in business. It's poorer people like myself who could afford 199 per month that kept this company in business.

Once they call me about that price increase they could come take there equipment out my house.

Bmobile created the 3Mb plan to compete directly with Digicel. Bundles are created/destroyed because of the cost of marketing the products, maintaining the more complex billing operations, and constantly shifting customer usage.

Good info. Another solution is to download a program like WiFi Analyzer if you have an android phone and see which Wifi bands are least populated then manually log into your router and change the Wifi channel to remain fixed on the one with least traffic. This would reduce the amount of interference you are getting from other networks.

Most routers are set to roam for a lest populated channel by default which is fine until there are a lot of networks in range. Then all the wifi networks end up just continuously jumping from on channel to a next.

Oh btw, you can set up the 5GHz and 2.4GHz signals to be separate networks. That way it's easy to switch back and forth if you want to.

you saying the problem could be caused by other people in his area ?
the man say it was working good up to a few weeks ago. surely this cannot be the problem

Can you elaborate more on this? what do you mean when you say cost of marketing the products?

Because as far as I know this country only has 2 cellphone providers and if you want to get data you will just go on either of their website and look up the cost then decide which you will go for. Possibly looking at their coverage map if there is one.

I don't see how they can have a marketing cost problem, this country only has 2 providers and everybody knows that it is Digicel and Bmobile. Now I could understand if we were discussing something like say starting your own AC company, there is thousands of AC men out there installing units with signs on government lamp poles saying "AC install $2300"

Other people are not causing the problem. Signal noise or poor signal strength are causing his problem.

5 Ghz band - higher frequency, higher bandwidth, less noise, less interference, more attenuation (signal getting killed) by solid objects in its path.

Move the router, switch to 2.4 Ghz, stay closer to the router, or add another access pot to the network.

The marketing cost is creating the information, software systems for billing, training the representatives, store or phone time to explain the package, advertising the package, etc.

Many of your posts in this thread indicate that you are not certain which package is best. When the package is "unlimited", that problem diminishes. When unlimited bundles are offered, even more so. Simple choices sell.

Marketers aim to offer what the buyer will purchase most often and with the least deliberation while driving the highest profit.
