And today of all days, the TTPS vehicles that are always parked on the highway at rush hour were MIA....

Nothing strange there.

So according to CNC3 Beetham residents came to the victim's rescue and help bandage his wounds instead of robbing him ?

I'm in fear every morning and evening going to and from work. You can never tell which day one of them would try out those high powered weapons they have on unsuspecting motorists.
They could probably stay in the hills and snipe passing cars.

They did it already from the John John flyover. Shot a man in a passing car, and the police said then that there were other instances reported.
I just happen to value my life.

Fun fact:
With the right rifle, a sniper can neutralize a target from Ft. George to Mucurapo Road/Foreshore intersection (as an example) with high accuracy. Fortunately, there is no one in T&T trained to do so.

However, from an elevated position of the Laventille hills, it is easy to find a 1,000m distance to the Beetham Highway. This is within range of even some of the more pedestrian sniper rifles out there. What this means is, even for the more modestly trained individual, such a range can facilitate high accuracy targets. So, what this also means is, as soon as ANYONE passes the Barataria flyover heading west (as an example) where the highway pretty much straightens out until the Sea Lots flyover, that area of the highway is an ideal kill zone for anyone who is considered a high valued target.

Mere fact that we all pass this kill zone area on a daily basis unscathed means that we aren't targets. I know there are other and much more ideal conditions out there but if organized crime continues the trend in which it already is especially with the arrival of more and more advanced weaponry, then very soon and it doesn't matter where, anyone can be a sitting duck to a sniper where the criminal element may not want to cause the commotion like what happened yesterday and times before that.

That is a really scary thought. I just remembered there was an episode of CSI Miami about that sort of thing; a sniper was killing indiscriminately, just whenever the wind and conditions were perfect, whoever happened to be in the crosshairs at that brief second.

The way they acting up all over Trinidad, it's just a matter of time. I saw a vid on Facebook where they were making threats to create mayhem sometime last year

A sniper operating at those distances (1000yds) needs a bit more education than a common entrance pass and drivers license test.
He requires knowledge of using a proper rifle scope and how the bullet trajectory is affected by the speed of the particular ammo he is using as well as any wind conditions.

Mind you there are phone apps to do that now but you still need to figure the data first and more importantly understand how it works

That's only relevant for a professional setting. I'm sure they will be willing to "figure it out" by trial and error. Now that's a scary thought.

Sniping might be applicable for professional hitmen who wants to eliminate a specific target. These wildmen here will spray it down, like how they jump out on the tiida with machine guns, bathe it down but just leg and chest wound on the victim.
