I recently switched to an air port extreme...from a linksys

Chalk and cheese.

The stability is perfect...even with power outages.

It was sad to hear they stopped production.

The main difference between this AP and your typical/cheap home AP is that Ubiquiti products are managed remotely via 'controller' software. In a nutshell, the controller software exposes a local web interface which has all the GUI features you need to identify, 'adopt', and configure the AP. The software is available for all major operating systems and they even include a Java-based version of the app, for cross-platform compatibility.
