The suzuki s cross can be put in crossover category with the sx4 as well....but not vitara

But the new vitara isn't based on the swift chassis? Also it has on demand 4x4 as far as I know, which makes it a crossover

that was worded badly on my part, but the reason I mentioned it is because some SUVs like the Audi Q series are all based on the same platform as cars also, but I'd consider the Q5 to be an SUV because it has true all wheel drive with the Quattro system. Sorry for confusion.

Suzuki Vitara is a new five-seat compact SUV that’s designed to rival the likes of the Nissan Juke and Citroën C4 Cactus, netting Suzuki a slice of the lucrative small SUV market in the process.

The Vitara is offered with a choice of 1.6-litre petrol or diesel engines; some models are available with four-wheel drive and you can even have an automatic gearbox. Buyers can pick from a host of personalisation options, too, ranging from interior trim panel colours through to exterior cosmetic upgrade packs.
you're in the market for a small crossover then the Vitara should definitely be on your list – particularly if you're buying privately. - See more at: http://www.whatcar.com/car-news/suzuki/ ... dUHx2.dpuf
