Some of our roadways and intersections are narrow. Also no parking signs are ignored. When this happen, the jam session starts. Because of the narrowness, the ease to turn out/into a narrow road can be increased by covering the drains level with the road, so the back tyre dont go down in the drain.
I have supervised this at several locations in Curepe/St Augustine area.
Corner of Lyndon and Joyeau St Curepe,
Corner of Watts Street and Evans Street
Corner of Freeman Road and Orange Grove Road, St Augustine
Corner of Freeman Road and Trantrill Road
Corner of Henry Street and Hindustan Trace, Arouca
The list goes on ......................... ...................
Further the construction of parapet walls at intersections has been discontinued as the option of widening the roadays at intersections has been adopted, lowering footpaths at corners for physically challenged persons. This lowered area now forms part of the turning radius and ensures that your car's panel doesnot get damaged. This can be seen at corner of Watts Street and Evans Street Curepe.
These amongst other measures has been adopted to ease the tension as it relates to the traffic situation.
Another situation on the highway is the intersection of De Freitas Boulevard and the Churchill Roosevelt Highway, La Horquetta. There is a 50 metre layby that causes a jam session for persons entering the highway and is in urgent need of being extended for approximately 300 metre. Also Traffic Management has to get their ascot painting the faded/non existent white lines at this location.
