The first pieces of an aircraft that mysteriously vanished in southeast Asia Saturday may have finally been found.
Pieces of the Malaysia Airlines flight’s inner door and a piece of the tail was found about 50 miles south-southwest of Tho Chu island, Vietnam officials said Sunday, according to the Wall Street Journal.
There is no official confirmation. A boat had found fragments a little further from the coast earlier Sunday that was thought to be part of the plane but it was actually just coral reef.
If this is part of the plane it could finally shed some light on what exactly happened to the flight and its 239 passengers that has been missing since an hour after it took off from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, bound for Beijing.

Well turns out all the items found so far are unconnected with the aircraft so back to square one.

When the air France Airbus crashed some years back. They found wreck within days but it took 2 years to find the black boxes.

But no sign of anything yet? In relatively shallow water?
This is certainly intriguing.

My theory, plane was hijacked, pilot is dead and the plane is hidden in the forest or sum.

The passengers are being taken into hiding and a ransom call to china as soon as the rebels confirm the passengers are within their reach.

Tests revealed the oil slick they found has nothing to do with the missing aircraft..

Sigh like these relatives not going to get any kinda closure!

Possible third hull loss of a 777? Hmm....

But what is scary is that as of this moment the status is unknown. By now wreckage would have surfaced if it did crash

You're going to have to explain to us how you land a fully laden Boeing 777 in a forest.

16.34 The rumours are getting more outlandish.

Chinese news forums say that some of the passengers' mobile phones were still ringing after the plane lost contact. A representative of Malaysia Airlines says that he has tried, and it was impossible.

This is the story cited by the IB Times:

According to China.org.cn reporter Zhang Rui, 19 families signed a joint statement requesting Malaysian Airlines to disclose the truth to them, and explain why they could get through to their family members’ cell phones but they could not hear anything and the calls hung up. They submitted the telephone numbers to the airline, which failed to response their questions with active measures. In response, angry family members threw water bottles at the spokesman, and vowed to protest in front of the Malaysian Embassy to China if Malaysia Airlines didn’t disclose the truth of the incident.

When asked about why the phone of a passenger on board was reachable but then hung up, Ong Ming Choy, representative of Malaysia Airlines, replied that he dialed that number several times but no one answered. Relevant departments have been informed of the matter and an investigation is under way.

Nope, latest update from BBC is still nothing.

I feel that 777 at the bottom of the ocean in one piece. Many reasons why that could be a possibility.

Strangest thought hit me when I said this reminds me of Airport 77... only they didn't hit an oil rig.

This is almost a modern day "star tiger" for the fact it has disappeared without a trace...

The two missing passports (Austrian and Italian) were supposedly used by Iranians though. And Taiwan indicated they had reports of a threat to aviation in mainland China that week.

-The plane was officially last seen by Air Traffic Control on the East of malaysia (over the CHina South Sea) after that the transponder was switched off but that does not mean the plane disappears from radar, it continues to appear as a bogie unless the plane descends so low to the ground that radar can no longer pick it up...or of course it crashes
- There are reports however that military radar continued to track the plane heading West back over Malaysia and towards the Strait of Malacca (which is why they have been searching on both sides of the Malay penninsula
- That report has been corroborated by police reports which state residents on the East cost of Malaysia reporting a low flying jet at about 3000ft above the ground.
- Contrary to that Cathay Pacific crew flying to China reported today seeing large solid debris in the South China Sea.
- It has been shown that the stolen passports etc don't appear to have anything to do with the disappearance of the plane

That's the latest

Read what someone wrote

"The black boxes ping when submerged, which would have lead to something being found, that has yet to.. Very sad.."

Read more: http://www.ctvnews.ca/world/vanishing-p ... z2vfaI6vxH

So that means it not under water.

Either terrorists hijack it, the pilots were the terrorists, or decided to carry it to a remote island so they can steal the plane though that makes no sense. Who would steal a 777.

Also it has a thing like a GPS that can track it aswell.

So everything makes even less sense. Must be cross in another dimension yes LOL

When AF447 crashed in the Atlantic from Brasil, it took a while to find the crash site in the middle of the ocean and then another 2 years to find the black box. But at least they had an indication of where the flight went down from radar to the ocean.

This one is a real mystery. Some major malfunctions there if the pilot was forced to turn back at a point and then fly so low under radar and not make any distress calls. It's unbelievable that a well inspected commercial airline like that could just stop working and all the transponders failed at the same time. Bottom of a deep trench in the ocean far from where they are searching seems to be a better bet to the location. Black boxes can be destroyed if the impact was devastating enough. Maybe there was a large fire too while still in the air?
