Jaysur Customs and the Adapt2Auto committee in collaboration with AutoSport would like to thank all the drivers who participated at yesterday's noise test.

We were able to ensure that all participating cars were within the stipulated decibel levels.

We would like to thank Shazad Rahaman of Iasca Caribbean for his expertise in conducting the noise tests.

Is there a revised entrance fee for non-RAVE spectators? My Corporate Sponsors are not interested in the RAVE, but would like to support the car at the event.

Also, drivers are not allowed to bring in coolers of soft drinks/water/Gatorade etc? Please clarify.

Hi Kirk,
Drivers would be allowed to bring in coolers of soft drinks/water/Gatorade so this will not be a problem. However one of the stipulations of the Bar/Dancehall license is that No Glass Bottles will be allowed. The Police associated with the borough of Arima will be regulating this aspect. Under no circumstances will there be any alcohol being consumed in the pits during competition. Any Competitor found drinking Alcohol before the competiton is completed will be disqualified.
There is only one entry fee which entitles patrons to both the competition and the Rave/Party which will be a great addition to this form of Motorsport. This gives spectators something more to do while attending the event.

I must say, that this is a most interesting event that peeks my curiosity, I wish it every success. However, I would encourage Autosport to add more creativity in some of their future events by incorporating mini style bridges with jumps which in turn could be the start of another type of event that some have only whispered about. Some Food for thought.

It is encouraging to see something new, however, a course incorporating jumps poses a few issues.

Most of the cars entering Drag and Wind are street driven cars and many would not want to subject their cars to that level of abuse. I agree some new events are needed to develop the sport, but it should be targeted to the masses for it to grow initially.

Agreed Mr. Flex, I am also aware of some new developments that may be scheduled in the adjacent lands to the Arima car park in the near future. This could very well be the creative increase that could give rise to much more, this could contribute to the more that we all are looking for. Thus far there are no reports of any new development in the country scheduled for 2014, I would support any type of development large or small for Motor Sport to progress, this one, would make a good start.

Ok Competitors the Registration and Briefing for Trinidad's first ever Gymkhana event is tomorrow at Mosport for 7:00pm-8:30pm. We would like to ensure that all competitors attend the registration and briefing tomorrow at Mosport Bar so that all rules and issues regarding the rules can be sorted out.
Due to the overwhelming response for this event we will be registering persons on a first come first serve basis. Unless given prior notice by Devi Nath 680 6747, Johann Richards 778-0236 or Rawle Mahabir 680-8020. There will be no further registration after tomorrow at Mosport. This will facilitate other persons that would like to enter. (Persons that have placed in the top 10 in any Motorsport discipline: Autocross, Drag and Wind, Circuit , Rally etc. or have at least 3 years competing in motorsport are eligible to compete.)

Autosport /Jaysur Customs Rules for Gymkhana Event – 8th December 2013 at ARC

Catering for 50 competitors including about 6 Karts.

1. Using the same Classification as D&W (including 1.4 factor for turbos ) for all cars

• Group1-1599cc engines and smaller
• Group2-1600cc-1999cc
• Group3 -2000cc-2999cc
• Group4- 3000cc and above
NB: All disciplines run together in respective Classes. No tyre penalities.

2. Start with a First Session in Classes, 1 then 2 then 3, then 4...3 runs total!
(Sorry no A or B in Class!)

3. Go to Second Session in Classes, three more runs...and then selecting the fastest 2 in each group...so 8 semi-finalists.

4. Semi finals with 2 from each of four Classes, to run against each other and have one winner/finalist from each Class. Knockout. Lane choice to faster time.

5. The four (4) finalists will now compete IN A DIAL-UP COMPTETITION to select Overall winner. To limit sandbagging, disqualification if they go faster than 1 sec faster than their best time of the day.
a) Class 1 vs Class 2.
b) Then Class 3 vs Class 4
c) Two losers to run for 3rd, 4th
d) Two winners to run 2 best in 3 for overall 1st and 2nd.

6. Karts competing by themselves...bragging rights if they do fastest time of the day.

7. ALL competitors must carry numbers, provided by the organizers:
a. On both sides of their cars with the Event Organizers Logos, Class and Competition number clearly displayed – no number, no start!

8. All competitors must adhere to the rules of competition re dress, re discipline, no loud exhausts and no loud anti-lag.

9. ONE step across this boundary and you are out. This includes any unnecessary donuts.

10. This event is designed to be different, heading in the direction of International Gymkana Events. So it is expected that all competitors will drive the course with a certain degree of sliding, in at least two defined locations:
a) At the 360 within box
b) At the figure eight
Failure to comply will incur a +5 seconds penalty.

Moving cone/barrel/obstacle out of marked area: + 1 second penalty.

The organizers have had several meetings with the Management of ARC to eventually convince them that every effort will be made to stay within their guidelines. This permission was finally received on Thursday 28th November. The organizers have to also ensure that this Event will not cause any fallout that will affect the other regular users of this facility.

Thus the strict enforcement of all safety and disciplinary guidelines.

11. All competitors must sign waiver form before competition and wear designated arm band. Note all passengers must also sign waiver and wear designated arm bands before entering vehicle.

i feel like sharing an opinion on two points:
-no tyre penalties: you have already decided that the two fastest in each class will be those on race tyres/low treadwear tyres. period. $5 to any competitor on street tyres that makes it to the semis. i'm good for it

-point 10.: failure to slide in marked areas means a 5 second penalty? what the royal hell? what is "unnecessary donuts" and why then is sliding around the 360 and figure 8 considered "necessary" and made mandatory by penalty?

who determines what "degree of sliding" is acceptable? how can you repeat such determinations for different cars, drivers etc? the execution of this regulation seems to be very airy fairy for such a heavy penalty.

Mr. Razkal, you started off good and then became insulting which is undeserving to this new group. If this is the structure of the event and set points are determined in this fashion by the organizers so be it. As far as I understand it the selection of invitees were deemed capable of such skill to make the list. If you are incapable of having the right stuff for the event and was invited, Don't Come ! This may not be for you ???

Why is it that drivers always try to pronounce governance over event rules. This is not your place. Next time you use the public roads don't observe any laws, please break the light, drive on the shoulder, and hit about 120mph. Please be guided accordingly.

Microtech 7, I think you need to take Akash's opinion here as food for thought, it certainly isn't an attempt to "pronounce governance" as you are making it out to be. You were giving some food for thought earlier when suggesting to Autosport make a few changes, so why not offer other users the same opportunity to share their views and queries?

Everyone is looking forward to the event. The briefing is on tonight @ Mosportt if anyone wants to clarify anything more and I'm sure Devi and the folks at JaySur will continue to offer responses here to any concerns etc.

Let's make it great.

Clarify yes I certainly agree ! This the manner and lack of respect in the tone and the choice of words used by Akash, and it is not the first time he has done so, he will remember not to long ago. My good AutoSport friend has all my support in the way they deal, respond and reply to their people. Adapt 2 has linked themselves with a reputable organisation in trying their best.

I encourage you to ask your questions but be respectful to those who stick their neck out in a effort to keep Motor Sport alive.

I applaud your encouragement, but it still sounds like you're pushing Akash's opinion/question out of context. I hope that every user should be so lucky. I am assuming of course that you are highlighting this for the greater good, and not trying to defame his character or deny him the opportunity to improve in the way you apparently require.

While there is the adage 'it's not what you say but how you say it'; not everyone uses your favorite words, nor will they always adhere to your value system 24-7, if at all. I understand that there are words which trigger a connotation of disrespect to you but in Trinidad, it seems you have to get used to this. People are going to express themselves differently from you and your peers.

Conversations/lingo/talks/slang/expressions etc. will always evolve. These days if you call someone 'breds' they might take it the wrong way and it could cost you a sponsor's relationship. Next 10 years it might be heaping praises.

We have had years of clashes with personalities, cultural differences and people's fickle protocols and moods, especially in Motorsport. Think of the meetings dominated by such and the results. Actions, rections, courses of actions, countermeasures, damage control, legal action, safety... Effort, it all amounts to effort and where we want to put it.

It's more efficient to put the effort into understanding the query and clarification.
Motorsport's new direction is led by solutions. Put the energy to good use.

Still looking forward to the event. I'm sure the guys at Autosport and JaySur will do a great job.
