I have seen a detective offload a 1911 .45 at 20 feet and the safest place to stand was in front the target.

Everyone else, including Prison Service and private security firms are only allowed semi-auto firearms; no matter how menacing they look they only fire one round per pull of the trigger.

It IS a very accurate firearm with a very low recoil allowing for accurate repeated shot placement.

The AR-15 can be converted to fully automatic relatively easily. As they are smuggled in rather than imported I wouldn't be surprised if they were converted before bringing in.

The MP5 is a submachine gun.

Totally different class of firearms, any attempt to compare them would be unfair.
