so if this does materialise as a leg of the international race of champions i hope we dont end up with another international embarrasment the way rally trinidad ended..... would be nice to see the event hosted by autosport promotions in conjunction with gmrc and the bmc actually running the event.

I thought that I would not see a Circuit Racing track in TT until I was really old and in a wheel chair, can I cancel my order ?

Any idea of what Circuit cars are prepped/available to compete , as I heard with loosing Wallers most were left for dead no interest in keeping them shiny and lubed .

^ i believe most of the guys kept their cars ready...Ravi Singh, Priest, Tanko, Junior Phillips and Amit Nanan are regular racers in Guyana...Gerrard C has a new evo project i think, Jody Ali has his subaru 666, Buddit has an Evo 9 that was piloted by Ryan Peyrau Nov last year in Guyana, Nizam still has his civic ,brings it out at D&W now and again and Kristian Bhodoosingh has a Starlet Circuit car he's building right now...i'd say we in real good shape :)

All this talk of just racing, please lets all be reminded of what happened last year without a proper management structure, this is just as important as having a well prepped car to survive a day of racing.

AutoSport is the only local Motorsport organisation that is contracted to stage professional events outside Trinidad but is constrained to demonstrate their talent locally outside of Drag & Wind because of bureaucracy and hate by some who contribute nothing, and at a further cost to drivers who deserve much value for their time and money invested.

I'm sure Autosport already HAVE ALL the infrastructure in place to do a drag event , which in turn can be the * kick-start* of the autodrome once more..

The north track needs a lot more work than what you mentioned. The concrete surface is cracked up bad enough to prevent a safe running of a drag racing event with high horsepower cars. I don't feel comfortable driving on that surface at more than 60km/h and that is in an econobox sedan.

this is true...the north track is dilapidated and very unsafe for drag racing.

Can I ask you sirs, how many accidents happened at Camden and how many drivers were actually injured.

And ask the same question re Waller Field both North and South when in use?

Do you expect a track that has NOT been used for 7 years to be race ready because you are race-ready?

Very pertinent question. When this topic was breached I knew that this would come up in discussion . Suffice to say that that the racing surface at Camden can in no way compare with the surface over the years at Wallers , more so in the later years at Wallerfield . Racing two cars with quite different power levels has show us that .

Yes the surface will need some works but the base structures , gradient and seams in the concrete are much better at Wallers. Why do all cars seem to run on avg .5 to 1 second faster in St. Lucia ? This shows how poor the surface at Camden is . Also the rate of accidents per facility is also not for comparison how many years Wallers was in use and the avg number of accidents .

It may be the season for mamagism , but we can hope .

Dont Forget the amount of TRACK COMPOUND (Trackbite) applied, contributes a bit also. Major things needed for Maximum safety and good results

(1)A decent surface
(2) Full 1320 of Track Compound
(3) Concrete Side Barriers all the way down.

Camden only had feature #(2) when Sheldon them put their own compound and did High 6's

they'll be ready certainly. ive seen men rebuild engines overnight to get racing the next day.

the issue is if they're opening it for just this one event, then trinidad is gona get schooled. some of the guyanese and jamaicans have gone so far ahead of us its not funny...

the south eastern entrance (by the chicane) was always open for the squatters living there, will it was last time i checked in march. I have been offshore for the past 3 months but the circuit was always in good condition from what i saw. its about time they let us back in since absolutely nothing major was being done @the circuit. LETS SEE HOW LONG WE GOT IT FOR IF WE GET IT. PNM COMING BACK IN 2015 OR SOONER SO YEA F@C MOTOR RACING AGAIN SMH
