how do others' business dealings affect you? business is war..if a company is offering a better price, then you need to offer something to keep yourself competitive or offer a new strategy. no need to get in other people's business and put a target on your head, unless that is your job

OP, check this scenario and tell me what you think.

Tender for 10,000 items comes out with public tender opening.

You bid, go for the tender opening, and you have a competitive price. All of a sudden, they cancel that tender, now the tender is for 50,000 items.

Winning tender was at least 2.5x times anyone elses. Samples had to be provided by all persons tendering and yours were just as good as the ones that won the tender.

Most importantly, try not to get into competition with people involved in money laundering.

Op now realize the level of duties not being paid yes.

It is not hard to put together a list of well known commodity items which often have very suspect pricing.

For those asking how he got the competitors tender info.... it's actually required for gov't to release competitor bid amounts to remain transparent...

although most govt agencies refuse to release the basic info of who tendered what amount... it's technically the law and required.

Awaits procurement legislation to be enacted before next election... lolz

Allyuh feel what ur reading is bad ?

Try this one on for size...

Tender goes out for emergency works (millions) with a 8 week completion deadline of works.
All major firms tender on time but one 'cheater' firm arrives past the cut off time and blatantly cuts open the tape on the tender box to stick in their tender (against the rules).
Other competitors lodge official complaint
Tender squashed with 7 weeks left to supply
Tender reissued and all tenderers pay for a new package (5 weeks left)
All tenderers resubmit including the 'cheater' (4 weeks left)
The bid amounts are announced on the same day
The 'cheater' company wins the tender outright and is millions above the lowest bid (2 weeks left)
Millions in 'made to order' product is subsequently discovered supplied and in the building within 1 week of project award and 'cheater' is praised by gov't on it's responsiveness.
All other tenderers left standing around with heads scratching...

..even when the bids are in the open... bobol...

Is this an attempt at an ethnic joke ?

The problem with corruption is that it only promotes ineptitude... hence... it puts real businesses out to pasture while the poseurs and bottomflys collect unearned money... then all that will be left are the crooked, unethical businesses as 'leaders' in private sector....

... 20 years later... you want to know why the economy is in the shifter and all the top businesses are run by dunder-heads...

Sometime last week a young lady advertised on costaatt south campus facebook page that she has gotten linked up and can now provide a service of bringing goods at a price lower than store prices. She made it very clear that the merchandise does not pass through customs and you dont pay tax. Her price varies.

When it is bought to her attention that what she is doing is illegal she quickly deleted the post making a new one advertising the services and now saying it "comes through a skybox". Thats what she meant by not passing through customs (again making it clear that it does not pass through customs). When braced about the skybox that allows merchandise to come in without passing through customs post gone poof again.

New one made one time saying that it passes through a skybox, through customs but extra low price again through her special "skybox" that costs way less than all others. When questioned the post deleted, a new one made, she was promoted admin of the page and the person questioning it banned.

Not saying which admin.

OP...tendering for contracts legit?

I just lol-ed outloud.

I dont get your issue though. I've been on the receiving end of a customs buttsexx, but now I know how to give it. Should I goto jail or be charged because the customs officials are too stupid to classify my items properly?

I see nothing wrong in not paying Tax; and 'avoiding' tax and tax evasion are 2 completly different things. I avoid paying tax legally. It's called learning the law.

remember customs officers are just public servants who wrote an exam and got through there eh...then they moved up the ranks when people died/retired.

That's why when Manning wanted to implement the IRA they tote hard...

Lets say u own a supermarket....

U buy ur scotch from Brayden's, pay 1000 a case

Ur competitor brings it himself for 700 a case....

That is fair competition

The next year u decide to import your own scotch but end up paying 950 a case while your competitor pays 700. Reason being ur CIF says "scotch", while his says "Carpet"

Not fair competition

Crap like this killing legit business.....
