wings.....  *gets mind out of the gutter......but seriously though..your options are to either deal with the best and the brightest of the TTPS , HYMC & UDFR or take it to someone who will attempt to fix it. - either ian or a private investigator.

I find the police are just like third party insurance necessary to have there as a formality but serve very little purpose. I was a victim of a "hit and run" I hit the guy and but he made an illegal turn on my green traffic light. When I described the car the police said "I cant see it" he could not see me hitting a white car because there was no paint residue. When I gave him the license plate he said that belonged to a red civic and not a white Mazda. That was Mon repos. I pulled the certify copy to see and guess what it was a white mazda. They treat most traumatic experiences like a walk in the park because they are numb to it. Tell them someone driving with a cracked windscreen or without a seat belt and see how fast they fly out and charge someone.

that is intended to preserve any potential fingerprints

Here's what's going to happen:

Tomorrow they'll call Ramjohn from Barataria station out of he bed to come take prints...or send her to Barataria station.

He'll come reluctantly, taking over an hour to get there.

He'll look at the car and tell her some nonsense about how the fabric interior or something means no prints.

She'll insist the person didn't get inside and that the prints should still be on the door or door handle.

He'll pull out his duster, reluctantly of course, dust the door handle...just the handle, not the area around the glass.

NWP. No Workable Prints.

Ramjohn has done that to me TWICE.

I have no faith in his ability to solve crimes.

is there only one fingerprint personnel for the whole of Trinidad police service?

Had a problem recently and I was willing to pay to get fingerprints privately lifted but was told by forensics department that no private companies do this in Trinidad.
left something with them about 4 months now with no response.

Finger printing is a waste of time unless the person has had prior run ins etc. Most people expect a criminal minds and csi approach but what you really get is a laid back approach because we don't have the resources.

But you actually SAW the guy. Why didn't they let you meet with a sketch artist to try to get a picture of the person?

That whole fingerprinting thing is a waste of time, I doubt I'd even bother with the hassle just to be told NWP.
