I did comp sci & physics undergrad, then elec eng postgrad, and each had aspects that were difficult and aspects that were easy. It wasn't a straight case in any discipline.
You can do very well in Comp Sci if you apply yourself and do what the lecturers ask you to do (tutorials on time, understand the labs, start your assignments as soon as you get them). Comp Sci stood out in that you were constantly being evaluated and challenged, whereas with Physics and Postgrad elec, you could get an A from doing the exam well enough. Content wise, physics was the most interesting, for me at least. The best part about Comp Sci is that it molds your thinking into a more logical manner which can be applied in any situation, and I have no regrets about doing the course.
If you're choosing to do a programme for a career, the idea is to be competitive in the job space, and supplement your degree (whatever it is) with further useful qualifications that someone at your level will not normally have.
