I hoping to get a spot on the upcoming South Africa trip as a consultant. We considering take the new CAL 767-300 :drinking:

I think though that we should crawl before we walk. A professional drag strip first before any circuit. But the private sector needs to do this more than the government in motorsport. I prefer a profession motorsport venue than a subsidized IMAX theatre.

Duane 3NE 2NR wrote:^ well the Tourism Minister announced last week that he is allocating land in Valencia quarry for a home for motorsport. So it seems that it is not necessary for the line ministry only to make such a move.

Strange though - TTASA has not heard anything about this Waterloo "revival". SO they are just as surprised by the Guardian article. The last document TTASA got concerning Waterloo was the 2007 letter from Boynes which stated the land was earmarked "in principle", that issue has not moved forward since then.

sori there, Duane...
a letter was sent by ex-min of sport -Gary Hunt - to TTASA in response to the NGB requesting access to said lands for motor sport activity 'whilst the lease process was being pursued'. This document specifically stated that no one was allowed to enter upon the lands in question.

.
this same 'min.' Hunt stated on national television (Morning Edition) that this "agreement in principle means nothing........"
.
that being said.......I think we've run out of circles to spin around in....let's see what's next

^ the last positive document I meant - I'm sure there was alot of correspondence (both verbal and written) concerning Waterloo between 2007 and now.
