BOARRRRRR......... 0X

Seriously tr1ad, yuh cousin in Massey LIED about that to me too. Feel yuhbonnet and tell me if it running hot. Mines runs cool, and a lot quieter since I started to run on premium. There was a ched where there was a service advisory from massey about which cars use what kinda gas, and the local Tiida definitely uses premium.

would've been great if we got the turbo diesel option, like the one offered in the European markets.

from:

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/201 ... ive-review

The compression-ignition version only gives up three ponies, but torque soars to 258 lb-ft at 1600 rpm.

if only n&m could bring it down...(special order even)

Would you buy the base model VW Tiguan or the base model Hyundai Santa Fe instead of this fully loaded Subaru XV?

They are all the same price AFAIK.

Correction - the Tiguan is more expensive than the Subaru XV

Shane18 wrote:

Nope, went in and got a quote for $311,000 on the road. That was the 180 hp model though.

Just got this from Neal & Massy

The Tiguan comes in three variations:

TIguan Trend & Fun- $327,205
Tiguan Track & Field - $341,592
Tiguan Sport & Style- $401,956

We have all three in stock right now as we just got in a shipment!

I'd get the SantaFe, however i find the interior build quality feeling cheap.

Tiguan real nice when I looked at it, but resale might be an issue with them.

Here is a decent comparison of the above two. (not T&T market however, but application still useful)

http://www.autoevolution.com/carcompare ... &id2=11327

Overall, I still like the XV...

^ Subaru parts will be easier to get. The XV shares alot of engine and body parts with the Impreza

True, and as with all other subarus, if you can't source parts here from the firm or bamboo, there will be a lot of companies abroad you can get them from.

I haven't checked the XV @ n&m, but with the comparison of the 3 above online, size is closer to the Tiguan rather than the larger SantaFe, which would be something suitable for what i'd need it for, plus the minimum ground clearance of the XV is 8.7 in., whereas the Tiguan's 6.9 in. which is great.

and the newer revamped designed subaru engines are supposed to be coming with timing chains, a big plus for me compared to the older ej20's 10 mile long timing belt.

(wonders how long that chain gonna be tho...)

That Tiguan quote that Shane18 gave was actually the old price from 2011 – They've have had a price increase in 2012 which is why the price is a bit higher now

I'd agree ont he space but its a different wheelbase and platform

The XV is much more capable "offroad" than the Impreza and almost 9" off the ground.
The XV also has factory backup camera, 7 airbags, paddle shifters, built in bluetooth etc - the value goes up.

Should be great for trekking through a rally stage 8)
