Was told by a Ford Saleman today that they getting the Heavy-T requirement removed. Think they adjusting the weight. It has already been done on the 4X2 Manual..

You can convert the Land Rover from T to P with accompanying mods, a friend of mine is changing his defender from a pickup tray with softtop to full wagon body, and thus going from T to P, for whatever reason.

Isn't the insurance cost higher on a T than a P for the same value vehicle?

unsure of the insurance, but T is required to do a pit inspection at LO every year. P doesn't.

^^yup confirmed - Licencing office to review the MGW on the 2012 Rangers so Heavy T isnt required.

This means more and more rangers and BT50's will be seen on the road now. I have been told there will be no modification on any of the vehicles for this change.

southern sales who initiated the entire process...they got them classed as a light t and then ford query why the ranger was and the mazda wasn't

interesting how they pull this change of numerical legalese
if mgw was reduced, then either the tare(raw weight) was reduced OR the max it can carry
certain lic officers gonna be making $1200's less now, lol

Hi All

I just called license office and ANSA.
License office said they hear talk of it but no decision yet.
ANsa said class 4 is required for the ranger, no change as of today's date.
