On the ground in St. Lucia all arrangements are gradually falling into place.

Track set-up is well under way, track bite has been applied to the first sector of the track, hoping to get the next barrel off the boat with the Trini contingent, which incidentally left POS late yesterday evening, new scheduled arrival in Vieux Fort Port approx. 1:00pm.

Boat with St. Vincent cars arrived at 7:20am and were being cleared this morning. Grenada cars being cleared this morning.

Unbelievable that both Antigua and Nevis had shipping problems and will not be represented.

Briefing meeting carded for 7:00pm tonight.

TTASA wishes the ‘T & T Team” well at the ‘Drag Wars’ Event in St. Lucia on Sunday April 15th 2012.

TTASA personnel visited St Lucia last week to ensure that all will be well for their drivers who will be participating in the Drag Racing event this weekend.

Since most drivers had previously made commitments to race in St Lucia on the Terms and Conditions that were offered to them, there was no room left for further negations by TTASA.
However, given the high performance cars that will participating, we feel confident that our drivers will excel.

It was stated that TTASA's presence and or opinion WAS NOT needed OR wanted in St Lucia. The T&T racers made their own arrangements, paid their own way and handled their own story WITHOUT TTASA, so why now TTASA making it seem like they went to St Lucia to secure the well being of the trini racers?

Duane, why yuh even bother to post that press release from TTASA? It's clear that dem fellas (TTASA) want to fool the masses into making them feel like they had some sort of say in this event. Why TTASA don't show us the list of cars that supposedly qualified at their last event to go to St Lucia?

First TTASA says FIA license holders cannot compete in unsanctioned events.
Then the Vice President of TTASA Mr. Link Sampath posted this

2/ in order to invite foreign competitors from other FIA territories, the event MUST BE SANCTIONED BY TTASA (AS FIA ASN TRINIDAD) through an affiliate.
3/ ... It is a fact that NO COMPETITOR FROM ANOTHER FIA ASN CAN COMPETE IN AN OTHER ASN's TERRITORY WITHOUT THE EVENT BEING SANCTIONED.

Was TTASA discouraging drivers from going to St. Lucia because AutoSport was involved in the event?
Now TTASA realised how many competitors were going to St. Lucia despite TTASA's dumb rules so they changed their tune. Suddenly TTASA executive begging St. Lucia to have a meeting.

TTASA is trying to remain important. St. Lucia promoters are smart enough not to be coerced by TTASA to follow FIA rules which are really not required.

I would like to hear Link's comment on how over 30 local FIA license holders are competing in an international unsanctioned event in another country.

I expect I will not get a reply though. Over two weeks now since TTASA had their "Inaugural National Drag Racing Championship Series for 2012" and we cannot get a single result about who the winners are.

We cannot get results from that either, but TTASA claims their President went to St. Lucia to "ensure" the T&T drivers are not "disadvantaged".
