anyone ever thought that maybe the networks are different that's why the pricing scheme is different.
my supervisor explained it to me..it's like this.
in America you pay for the SERVICE....NOT the handset...since everyone wants 3/4G services
(DATA) they offer you a contract with a phone to suit the contract - ie apple andriod etc.
they have their own deals with the manufacturers to push their handsets
example samsung lets say goes to verizon and says hey push my new phone with the new andriod OS and i'll give you a discount on the first half million handsets of ours you market to customers !!
over here now the reverse happens.
you PAY for the handset NOT the service - service is added on afterward...
they dont have any dealings with manufacturers ( or much of them anyways ) so they buy the handsets in bulk to get a cheaper rate then sell to the public to make back the $$$$ then you charge them for the service....more $$$$
seeing it yet...??? in america they combine the handset and service into one cost
here they separate each component to get maximum $$$$$$
