I think it's pricing that's having the most negative effect. SS wants to price the near-luxury models too high which causes consumers to look at the Euros and the lower end models just cannot compete with the fully equipped KIAs. Not helping Mazda is the fact that KIA has significantly upped their ante....most of their models are more desirable than the equivalent Mazda. N&M may run into this problem too since the latest generation of Hyundai cars are much better than the Nissan competitors. The dealerships with Korean makes are going to find it much harder to move their Japanese brands .... IMHO...

B-car - Suzuki Swift
Small car - 2011 Hyundai Accent
Mid-size - 2011 Hyundai Elantra
Large - 2011 Kia Optima
Sport coupe - 2010 Kia Cerato Koup
Entry level SUV - 2011 Kia Sportage
Entry level Luxury SUV - 2011 Kia Sorento 3.5 V6
Luxury SUV - Audi Q7
Luxury Sport Coupe - Audi TT 2.0T (Assuming the RX-8 was sold by SS)

Note the above list is based on dealers that sell a comparable Japanese or Euro model.

Minus the fuel efficient part they are quite powerful, and idk about u but I have never seen a "bad" looking Mazda fresh out of the showroom......As far as sales I do blame SS for NOT supplying us with feature rich automobiles > but then again all local dealers screw us on this. I mean come on "fully loaded" is what exactly "4 extra air bags and leather seats" for a good few thousand more dollars, I mean come on what do we work for to settle for that..As far as for the various models: 1.6, 2.0 etc. I blame the gov the MVT is just too high, also personally I feel SS goes ah little to far on their mark up.......any way to answer your question > Yes I feel Mazda has a future but its up to the dealers to set things right.

Once again the death of the RORO led to increased prices of some crap cars. Dealers doing what they want now. You take or leaver it, dealers dont care

Plus for 2011 it's still got a shitty 1.6L engine with a pathetic 104hp and a 4 speed auto....compare that to the 2011 Elantra with 140hp 1.6L and 6 speed auto....even if Mel's prices the Elantra the same I won't even consider the Mazda

Mazda's Skyactiv campaign is about to embark on the below:

It's a worldwide program to achieve greater efficiency, power and performance across their newest vehicle lineup.

The bottom line is support... mazda has none, plus parts hard to find.... and that is killing the name, the 3's are doing well though... the manual version of any mazda can take rel pressure and will be reliable, the only downfall is the tranny which is weak. Oem parts last pretty good also. Suspension is one of the best.
