I haven't seen much of their usage, but only imagine them ripping a vehicle into pieces when contact is made at the right velocity, as the cable can act on the body of a car much like a serrated knife to bread. The good news would then be that much smaller projectiles would be targeting you on the opposite lane, albeit in greater quantities, instead of just one whole car.
That is to say, you'd probably get hit by a flying door, bumper or SR20 block instead of Pooklal's 'bad-up' b14 as one missile.
I still think Jersey Barriers are the way to go....guaranteed not to hit anybody moving in the opposite direction....you may just ricochet into somebody passing you.
I hope I wrong, but this cable thing sounds like it meant for low speed areas, like winding roads and parkways etc. But we all know that there's no such thing as 'low speed areas' in Trinidad!
Government again....not party politics....government stupidity! Just like when we bought articulated buses that were meant for city limits and put them to run San'do to POS.
BRILLIANT!

those are the best in preventing this but they are better in high land medians. Right there the land is like a dug out trench. they will need a fence like structure to help maximize the trench effecthttp://www.wsdot.wa.gov/NR/rdonlyres/18C1B593-76B1-4A21-BB8A-510D8640CE0D/0/SR18cablebarrier.jpg
