^^^graphics only matter absolutely in slow games and cutscenes... it's about gameplay, regardless of genre, & GT5 definitely seems set on that aspect IMHO (given the detail in GT5: P)

Gran Turismo 6 Already In The Works
news

Yesterday there was news that Gran Turismo 5 went gold, and Gran Turismo grand pooba Kazunori Yamauchi says he and the team are already looking forward to the next game.

Talking to AutoWeek, at the SEMA auto show in Vegas, Yamauchi confirmed that work had begun on the next Gran Turismo, but he was reticent to elaborate much on it. "It's not something that we can talk that lightly on. It took 2,000 days to get all the ideas that went into GT 5. It's just too early to be talking about GT 6."

Ironically, almost a year ago to the day – on November 3, 2009 – Yamauchi was more confident about GT 6 when talking to AutoWeek at SEMA 2009: "You won't have to wait as long as you did for GT 5," he bragged at the time. "GT 5 was basically the creation of a whole new operating system, and developing GT 6 will be like adding new applications that run on that new operating system."

If Gran Turismo 6 does indeed piggyback off of GT 5's tech like Yamauchi declared a year ago, then it should be easier to create and bring to market than GT 5. Then again, if there's going to be a Gran Turismo 6: Prologue and all that intermediate stuff – not to mention whatever features Yamauchi and his team decide to cram into GT 6 from now until then – we could be in for just as long of a wait.

Gran Turismo 5 Ready For Christmas !
Posted by Mario Mason On Saturday, November 6th 2010 in Entertainment

Afraid of missing your copy of Gran Turismo 5 for the Christmas rush? If Sony met its production targets, it is unlikely that this nightmare scenario occurs.
Because according 01.net, several sources in the middle of the distribution suggest a figure of enormous simply launch event for Gran Turismo 5. Only for France, no less than 450,000 copies of the most anticipated racing simulation from history are expected on the day of release!
By adding the best game in the bundle PS3 set at 350 euros, 100,000 Collectors editions and signed editions 5000, are therefore beyond the half million distributed GT5 just for the French market. An exceptional figure, especially when we read that Activision plans to launch 650,000 copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 combined.

It seems clear that this production target is a major reason for the postponement of the game was originally planned for November 3. Globally, we dare not imagine how many millions of Blu-Ray Sony factories that are being produced right now.
The release date of the game, still scheduled before Christmas, will probably be announced when Sony will sure be able to broadcast the game in sufficiently gargantuan proportions. Currently, everyone has his little date of 30 November on the SonyStyle site, on December 8 amazon.fr through Dec. 15 at the site of Micromania.

According to the classification of VGChartz, the exclusive top-selling PlayStation 3 since the console output is Metal Gear Solid 4 with nearly 5 million copies, but Polyphony Digital simulation is likely to quickly become the new champion the PlayStation 3.
