No arrest in Penal double murder

Tuesday, September 7 2010

AN ARREST is yet to be made into the double murder over the weekend in Penal and police investigators were yesterday reviewing security tapes in an attempt to solve the crime.

Police officers of both the Homicide Bureau, San Fernando and the Penal Police Station were yesterday investigating reports that there was an altercation between the victims and a bouncer at a bar in Penal, prior to the killings. Police are also investigating allegations that an off-duty policeman was liming at the said bar.

The bullet-riddled bodies of Gary Shah, 35, and his nephew Anderson Edmund, 21, were discovered in a gold-coloured Mazda 323 car parked along the SS Erin Road in Penal.

Shah of Gransaul Street, San Fernando was an offshore worker while Edmund of Lodge Road, Claxton Bay, worked as a labourer. Yesterday, autopsies were expected to be performed at the Forensic Science Centre, St James, but were postponed to today. Sgt Ramdeen and Acting Sgt Mc Donald of the Homicide Bureau, San Fernando, and the Penal Police Station respectively, are continuing investigations.

^^ If this is the case the alleged victim should be questioned by the investigating officer.

as of recent, registered firearm owners needed to carry in the firearms for ballistic testing and data recording..........this is still on-going as far as i am aware..........however its fair to assume that the defence forces firearms should have been the first to be tested.........if it was fired from a service issued firearm (as some have claimed), should be easier to trace.........

There's wiggle room for anybody, imagine illegal firearms are a fraction of the cost of a legal one.

An fairly good air rifle is over 5k, illegal 12gauge slighly used is $800.

When the altercation occured the two men beat up the bouncer at the bar. Now the bouncer is a policeman who is on vacation and works there. He is known for coruption and deals with underworld activity. However that did not give him the right to call the shots on these men. The way how the system is I don't think any witnesses will come forward. Furthermore the video surveillance tape will be covered up if it gets into the wrong hands.
