Lived a major portion of my life depending on one of those little buggers. This kind of life would require major adaptations on the part of many Trinis, who take much for granted. A life based on conservation is completely opposed to one of materialism/conspicuous consumerism.
First of all, AC? That 'need' could be easily removed by a more efficient building design and better use of one's natural resources... but since a Trini's concept of land development is to first cut down all the trees... and most houses are copies of designs that are based on AC use...
If one is willing to make major changes in one's lifestyle, one can be quite comfortable with an alternative energy system... but as most Trinis will prefer to copy the 'Hollywood' lifestyle than think for themselves, this sort of life will only become acceptable when you see these systems as part of life on BET.
