Non of these boats have GPS tracking in case of a breakdown etc?

If a boat breaks out of it's class dial-in, does it mean that it's automatically bumped to the next class for the coming year's race? Or do they stay in the same class and "sand-bag"?

Fury had some trim problems and as a result could not go past 110 miles per hour!

had it not been for that they would have won!

Thats why its not just about speed but reliability of your boat and equipment

"had it not been for that they would have won!"

Good God, how many others would have won Great Race and every other race "had it not been for that !"

And the GPS failed because of an incident on board -
seems as though the powers that be still have a lot of work to ensure that
incidents like whatever,
do not disable the GPS when an incident happens (independent back-up power)
and makes the GPS absolutely useless
when it is the GPS that the organizers are depending on
to find a boat when an incident happens. Simple?

that rescue effort porbably cost taxpayers close to $1m
just because the supplied race gps devices dont work
and the boat owners dont carry their own or emergency items

Pugboy, the knock matrix took pretty much took out everything, radio, gps, ricky's back, however renaldo was able to use an emergency call funtion on the gps device to tell race control he was 17 miles off gran riviere

even so they were running in the 120mph- class which means that they would not be allowed to exceed that speed + the fact that they would only average around 85-90sumthhing mph so what it really came down to in the end was the durability of the equipment and crew but i relly wanted them to win yes.. it did seem that fury had trim problems because by time they passed by where we were on the north coast they were going bow down into the swells n solo started to leave them

but seriously though back in the day when DuMariuer had the sponsorship, great race was on TV.

at least the start or somthing, or maybe some live updates from the beach, and probably the finish. It couldnt be that hard to sync it all in a 2 hr block on a saturday morning.
