If you want to send your child to "summer camp" buy him/her a plane ticket and send them way north of T&T.

Otherwise, be careful what you wish for, you might get it.

Nat Geo even describes Matura beach as having a "springtime" (May 2009) issue.

I doh see the point of summer camps...the point of vacation is for kids to relax...camps can be very stressful and they see it as another task they have to perform (just like school)

It's an excuse for when you don't want them around

La Hoya pool real unsanitary...the maintenance is non-existant... I sent my kids there swimming and used to pay the "pool guy" extra for him to clean the pool before my kids used it... a few months after he too left the job and they started getting rashes and infections...really poor management sad to say...

I'd suggest the U.W.I vacation camp, it's held on campus ,and there are 3 sessions each lasting 2 weeks, academia is matched with extra curricular activities ( after all the children are on vacation) drop off begins at 7AM, pick up is up to 5PM (can go a little later) very nice camp with good supervision
look out for the ads in the newspaper and .....

Atelier (French for Workshop)

Activities: Music, movement and art.

Police Youth Clubs

There are over 25 Police Youth Clubs in Trinidad and 12 in Tobago. Most of them organise an annual vocational programme for the holidays.

The camps, which are open to youths between the ages of five and 25, are divided into three different age groups.

They comprise sporting, recreational activities and computer literacy.

The programmes are non-structural and non-military but are police-oriented with lectures in law and discipline.

The club and camp are free but membership in the police youth club is necessary to attend the camp.

Individual schedules for the camps are determined by each particular club as not every club will host a summer camp.

To join any Police Youth Club go to any police station explain that you wish to join a club and they will direct you to one in your division.
